I agree

2020-12-25 06:41:15 UTC

But I don't think just saying the f word will be counted as a sin due to the fact that they are Earthly words

2020-12-25 06:41:16 UTC

I make it a practice to not cuss, since that’s how I was raised and I don’t wanna really start since I will be teaching children

2020-12-25 06:41:36 UTC

I mean, who made sex? God.

2020-12-25 06:41:53 UTC

And we perverted it

2020-12-25 06:42:12 UTC

We stopped teaching that it's an intimate thing

2020-12-25 06:42:39 UTC

I'm guessing God probably doesn't like it when I say "fuck", but who knows? Does it depend on the context? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2020-12-25 06:42:59 UTC

I think context

2020-12-25 06:43:23 UTC

Yeah

2020-12-25 06:43:47 UTC

If it's being used as an insult I think it's a sin

2020-12-25 06:43:48 UTC

That’s my best guess. The 11th commandment isn’t, though shall not use the f-bomb

2020-12-25 06:43:51 UTC

i dont think curse words matter too much

2020-12-25 06:44:05 UTC

after all, someone kinda just decided they were bad for no reason

2020-12-25 06:44:24 UTC

I mean, Jesus himself said ass multiple times in the Bible. But that was when it still meant donkey

2020-12-25 06:44:40 UTC

"the lords name in vain" refers to curse words with the use of the word god or jesus

2020-12-25 06:44:54 UTC

Like God followed by dammit

2020-12-25 06:45:13 UTC

Or using "God!" or "Jesus!" as an exclamation.

2020-12-25 06:45:19 UTC

Yeah

2020-12-25 06:45:58 UTC

i try to curb my use of that but not other curse words

2020-12-25 06:46:03 UTC

key word **try**

2020-12-25 06:46:09 UTC

Same

2020-12-25 06:46:11 UTC

No, we can’t just keep sinning after we’ve been saved. God hates hypocrisy.
This isn’t to say that Christians are perfect and don’t sin, or that they don’t still struggle with sin and addiction to some sins.
What it means is that we know it’s wrong and feel the gilt for it. We are sorry for doing it, and don’t want to do it

2020-12-25 06:46:40 UTC

Sounds about right.

2020-12-25 06:47:06 UTC

Hypocrisy would definitely be planning to commit the sin and planning to ask for forgiveness.

2020-12-25 06:47:35 UTC

"It's fine, I'll just ask for forgiveness later"

2020-12-25 06:47:44 UTC

Doesn't work.

2020-12-25 06:47:50 UTC

Have any of you heard the arguments about whether or not Christians are allowed to kill somebody in self defense?

2020-12-25 06:48:32 UTC

The correct translation is "thou shall not murder"

2020-12-25 06:48:32 UTC

i think we are

2020-12-25 06:48:43 UTC

but abortion

2020-12-25 06:48:46 UTC

no no no

2020-12-25 06:48:49 UTC

thats a sin

2020-12-25 06:48:52 UTC

Yep

2020-12-25 06:48:57 UTC

Indeed, we have "Thou shalt not kill", but clearly God lead troops to victory in various battles, so it likely applies to murder.

2020-12-25 06:49:08 UTC

Jesus said that we can defend ourselves.

2020-12-25 06:49:31 UTC

War and murder are different things, though

2020-12-25 06:49:54 UTC

You speak to God through your thoughts if you say it in your head isnt it the same as saying it out loud?

2020-12-25 06:49:58 UTC

Yup...one is premeditated (murder) and the other can be in self defense (war).

2020-12-25 06:50:15 UTC

To my understanding yes.

2020-12-25 06:50:26 UTC

Yep. It is no different.
