God*
We're trinitarians it's what unites us (christian), we believe in the triunity of the father, son and holy spirit. When islam implies "same god" then gets one of the trinity wrong (such as the linneage of Jesus), the whole house of cards (implying having the same "god") falls apart.
I agree with that
One thing that boths me with the Qur'an is how Muhammad says "we" when referring to him and God
Like dude
You are not God
I'm sceptical if allah is even a god...he asking for a loan in his quran. The mainstream translations say the same thing. π€ π
Yeah, I need to find the copy I have and find the verses that really concern me
For sure
[6] A wise man
is not showy about his wisdom;
he guards it carefully.
He is silent when he comes
to a strangerβs home.
The wise man seldom wanders into harm,
for you can never have
a more faithful friend
than a good supply of wisdom.
i dide the verse of the day actually
Oh sorry, I just liked it
Why not two verses of the day?
Hey, don't apologize.
Everyone could use a little more scripture in their lives
amen
This is from the Book of Mormon, one of the books of scripture in my religion. Even if you don't believe in it as a legitimate book of scripture, I think this is at least good advice still.
My quote was also from the BOM
I thought I recognized the font from gospel library XD
I figured it was from the gospel library, but didn't realize it was from the BoM. That was more of a disclaimer for people who don't recognize the BoM.
What are your guys' favorite verses?
Ephesians 1:3-14
Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will, to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved. We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him for the administration of the days of fulfillment β to bring everything together in the Messiah, both things in heaven and things on earth in Him. We have also received an inheritance in Him, predestined according to the purpose of the One who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will, so that we who had already put our hope in the Messiah might bring praise to His glory. When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.

Noo
Lemme edit
Great verses (looked them up already)
Bible apps are mean lol
Haha
I always have trouble with that question. Mine changes as my situation does. But I particularly like the verses centering around the Atonement.
Great point.
In that case what is your current favorite?
At my college I learned to diagram verses, it takes meanings to a whole different level for me (aka homiletics)
I'm sure it would. Seems like you'd be able to pick it apart more easily and find the meanings.
By the way, I also love Atonement verses. Lost a brother as a kid, so it is something very special to me.
It's not BoM, but Id say my current favorite is Doctrine and Covenants 59:22-23. A reminder to me that the Gospel isn't as complex as I sometimes think.
Doctrine and Covenants is great too.
That was one of my doctrinal mastery verses in seminary this year
