[6] A wise man
is not showy about his wisdom;
he guards it carefully.
He is silent when he comes
to a stranger’s home.
The wise man seldom wanders into harm,
for you can never have
a more faithful friend
than a good supply of wisdom.

i dide the verse of the day actually

2020-12-30 04:59:52 UTC

Oh sorry, I just liked it

2020-12-30 05:00:35 UTC

Why not two verses of the day?

2020-12-30 05:00:49 UTC

Hey, don't apologize.

2020-12-30 05:00:51 UTC

Everyone could use a little more scripture in their lives

2020-12-30 05:09:32 UTC

amen

2020-12-30 05:14:06 UTC

This is from the Book of Mormon, one of the books of scripture in my religion. Even if you don't believe in it as a legitimate book of scripture, I think this is at least good advice still.

2020-12-30 05:18:38 UTC

My quote was also from the BOM

2020-12-30 05:25:22 UTC

I thought I recognized the font from gospel library XD

2020-12-30 05:27:52 UTC

Same.

2020-12-30 05:29:34 UTC

I figured it was from the gospel library, but didn't realize it was from the BoM. That was more of a disclaimer for people who don't recognize the BoM.

2020-12-30 05:30:03 UTC

What are your guys' favorite verses?

2020-12-30 05:31:22 UTC

Mine is Alma 41:10.

Ephesians 1:3-14

2020-12-30 05:33:33 UTC

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will, to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved. We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him for the administration of the days of fulfillment — to bring everything together in the Messiah, both things in heaven and things on earth in Him. We have also received an inheritance in Him, predestined according to the purpose of the One who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will, so that we who had already put our hope in the Messiah might bring praise to His glory. When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 1:3‭-‬14 HCSB

Noo

2020-12-30 05:33:41 UTC

Lemme edit

2020-12-30 05:33:51 UTC

Great verses (looked them up already)

2020-12-30 05:34:10 UTC

Bible apps are mean lol

2020-12-30 05:34:20 UTC

Haha

2020-12-30 05:38:12 UTC

I always have trouble with that question. Mine changes as my situation does. But I particularly like the verses centering around the Atonement.

2020-12-30 05:38:28 UTC

Great point.

2020-12-30 05:38:38 UTC

In that case what is your current favorite?

2020-12-30 05:39:26 UTC

At my college I learned to diagram verses, it takes meanings to a whole different level for me (aka homiletics)

2020-12-30 05:40:35 UTC

I'm sure it would. Seems like you'd be able to pick it apart more easily and find the meanings.

2020-12-30 05:41:26 UTC

By the way, I also love Atonement verses. Lost a brother as a kid, so it is something very special to me.

2020-12-30 05:41:54 UTC

It's not BoM, but Id say my current favorite is Doctrine and Covenants 59:22-23. A reminder to me that the Gospel isn't as complex as I sometimes think.

2020-12-30 05:42:03 UTC

Always thought this one was good

2020-12-30 05:42:13 UTC

Doctrine and Covenants is great too.

2020-12-30 05:42:39 UTC

That was one of my doctrinal mastery verses in seminary this year

2020-12-30 05:43:02 UTC

I love that part of Alma where he is talking to his sons.

2020-12-30 05:43:17 UTC

I always considered the D&C to be like the little brother of the BOM

2020-12-30 05:43:28 UTC

Fair enough

2020-12-30 05:43:49 UTC

Mine too

2020-12-30 05:43:53 UTC

I can be a perfectionist at times and will occasionally get down on myself because I feel that I'm doing something wrong. That verse (the one I shared) popped out at me the other night and helped me get over it.

2020-12-30 05:44:48 UTC

Lol who knew there were a bunch of Mormons in here

2020-12-30 05:44:53 UTC

For me the D&C is important cause it is the first time i really paid attention to scriptures. My seminary experience started in the D&C, and before that I had kinda given up on church and scriptures and whatnot. Thankfully I had a great teacher who helped me to learn a lot.

2020-12-30 05:45:07 UTC

Honestly. Kinda glad we found out though.

2020-12-30 05:45:22 UTC

Me too
