I put my papers in around early October. And the day I was supposed to get my call, I was asked to wait because I’m high risk. I had the option of a service mission, but I don’t feel like that’s where I need to be.
That’s rough; it’s good you’re doing what feels best for you
Good luck
Yeah. Now I just wait for restrictions to be lifted.
Thanks.
My last piece of advice before I sign off for the night is this: "Obedience brings blessings, obedience with exactness brings miracles"
Good advice. Exact obedience is most definitely the way to go.
Try your best and you’ll be blessed. Goodnight y’all!
Night!
I’m a kinda late but I am also a member and enjoyed reading that conversation ._. 👍
I'm confused right now...
Currently, I'd say that I'm pretty Christian...
But recently, I've become really close with someone who is a Muslim..
And, tbh, not even just from him, a lot of things make sense..
But growing up, I was taught not to listen to any of that nonsense! Don't give into temptation! It's just poison! Satan will tear you away!!
But... Recently, before I even met him, I've been thinking about how almost every religion states that, in some way, people will try to tear you away from it.. And even a lot of religions match up and don't match up in different places with different things-..
I just... I'm so confused, and I want to do what's right, and I honestly can't tell if it's truth or if it's poison-.. I guess this is what I get for playing Devil's advocate, huh..
I'm honestly just so scared I might make the wrong choice, that I'll tear people away from the truth, that I'll be the reason other people fall from the greatness they could have had...
It's just so scary... And idek what to feel or think anymore...
I'm terrified of fucking up greatly...
What do you mean by "you'll make the wrong choice and tear people away from the truth"?
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44 KJV)
Because I want to get into politics- I don't want to lead them away if I'm the one who fucked up. I don't want to be the reason more people fuck up.
I want to be a leader, and as a leader, I want to be there to help the people. Idc about myself as long as everyone else has a better chance for something better.
You can be in politics, just hold onto God and His word
The reason most christian politicians fail is because they start loving the world more.
No- No-
My point is that I want my religion to be the truth, to be something I can encourage people to follow and be right.
Almost all religions say that they are right, that they are correct, that people will tear you away from them.
I don't want to fuck up because I know people will follow me, and I don't want to lead them down the wrong path.
Are you sure you know God as your savoir? (Not trying to sound mean). But it really seems you are struggling with your faith right now.
Knowing what things?
That a lot of the time when people get nasty about Muslims, it's because of how they perceive what Muslims are.
Muslims stand for a lot of the same things Christians do, and even stem from the same religion. Judaism.
No, read the Qur'an when you get the chance. It is not the same things christians stand for
I said a lot of the same things
And I am learning Arabic currently so I can
I have read the Qur'an
There is english translated ones
I want to read it in its raw form, to see if I believe it.
I will compare it to the translated ones, too.
(though that is blasphemy to them)
But, have you seen the flip side of what you are saying? Where muslims who believe nthe Qur'an come to know Christ Jesus?
I mean, even our Bible is messed up because it is not in its original form.
The Hebrew version says "thou shall not murder" not "thou shall not kill"
Jesus isn't the Son of God to them
They believe Jesus is not yet the Messiah, but that he will be.
No...
yes
I've talked to several Muslims
Then they are talking revelation stuff
They all say similar things
Muhammad was illiterate. Everything in his book he heard from others
"The Quran is thought by Muslims to be not simply divinely inspired, but the literal word of God. Muhammad did not write it as he did not know how to write. According to tradition, several of Muhammad's companions served as scribes, recording the revelations."
