Just wondering what y'all think of the cybertruck? As we know the pickup truck market is already very established with brand loyalty being higher than any other type of vehicle I believe it will be very hard for Tesla to make this suceed like they are saying it will. With that being said the pickup market is a very lucrative buisness, with 5 of the top 20 best selling vehicles in the US last year being pickups, and most of the time when you satisfy a customer with their first purchase they are likely to buy another one of your trucks. I will use my dad as an example he had a Ford Ranger then got a Ford F-150 and now he has a F-250. I think Tesla has a oppurtunity to hit a gold mine with the Cybertruck but they will have to play their cards very carefully.

they will probably do amazing in the future bc we will start to depend on electric cars or trucks so i personally don’t like it but it is very good performance and a very good truck overall but with a good truck comes with down comes like what if it runs out of energy what will you do see with a regular truck you can carry a extra gas can but if you are going up the mountain with a cyber truck you can just plug it in anywhere you need a certain place either a certain wot of voltage, so in my opinion i don’t like them

I think it's popularity is only going to be prevalent in cities, personally. Folks living in rural areas want trucks that they can work on with hand tools in their garages and bandage up until they can be repaired properly. That's why you see so many old trucks out in the sticks

@ThatShadyVandal I agree, If you wanna work on lets say a deer stand but only wanna put it together close to the woods so you dont have to haul it on a big trailer the F-150 has a built in generator to power your tools as with the cybertruck you would have to bring a generator or use weak battery powered ones.

Longevity, too

Most of the trucks I see out in the country are from the 90s, some of em are even from as far back as the 60s or the 70s

I live in the country and some people have old trucks but most of them are newer

I will concede, the rural areas I've been to are only a few places in Cali

But in the places I have been to, that's what I've noticed

It's weird out here, there's not that much infrastructure in the rural parts of Cali

The small towns don't have hardly anything

So out here, it's probably circumstantial because you can't just take your 6.7 powerstroke to the local diesel mechanic, because there isn't one

Personally I wouldnt get a cyber truck cause on the F150 has built in pencil holders, ruler, places to clamp things down without damaging the tailgate. It is nice that the cybertruck has a built in air compressor but it is rare that your gonna have to use a nail gun or something like that and if you do you can bring a little one.

The real reason for onboard air is because you deflate your tires for offroading

The real question is does it have the ability to back up your boat into the water or back you up to a trailer.

It probably will, Tesla likes to load their vehicles up with technology

I think it's gonna achieve commercial success but I think it'll take a while before it gets adopted beyond cities or suburban areas

That’s called two foot braking. It’s a cornering technique. It’s mostly used by FF drivers who are former cart racers. The idea is that most of the time you brake before cornering and coast through the turn unit it’s time to step on the gas. By being on the gas while still being in the corner it can have a weight transfer that favors FF vehicles and as soon as the brake is released it will have better acceleration out of the corner.

Also used by the elderly. I dare say used MORE by the elderly

I personally heel and toe for this technique.

I have a good foot so I can tilt my toes on the brake and have my heel over the gas pedal.

Hence... the elderly comment 👆

The thing is I have a automatic transmission so I don’t really have any need to do this in day to day driving with a time capsule.

I just rock my foot back and forth on the heel seamlessly sliding from pushing one pedal to the other...

Still gotta be gentle with the automatic.
