I envy you in a way
He is indeed.. and how so?
My folks never taught me anything in the way of practical skillsets when I was a kid. I had to go discover everything I know now on my own
The skill level I would have today if I would've gotten started doing what I'm doing now a few years earlier...
I’m sorry to hear that.. with that said, I’m impressed with your knowledge and motivation
Heh. Thanks
I like to think I've learned a few things in my life, and I have, but really I know just enough to know that I don't know shit
Still, time permitting, I could rebuild that truck of yours almost in its entirety
I think that’s the way most people should look at it.. regardless of how much you know, there is always so much more to learn.
> Still, time permitting, I could rebuild that truck of yours almost in its entirety
@ThatShadyVandal And I don’t doubt that for a second.. you seem to know what you’re doing 😂
I like to think I do, too... sometimes, I may actually! Lol
You know what's funny, is last Saturday I took one of these and rebuilt it
This is a holley 4-barrel, spreadbore "double pumper"
First time I ever did one... buddy of mine watched me work the whole time. Didn't believe me that it was my first time
I just take things slow when I work, but I went about it so gracefully that he thought I'd done it before
I’m gonna be honest, I’m not entirely sure what that is. 😂 but congrats. like I said, you seem very knowledgeable, and you’re mentality seems as if you’re always willing to learn. That I suppose is the best way to succeed in life
This is something called a carburetor. It's a mechanical way of feeding fuel to your engine. They used to be common up until around 35 years ago
Oh, I see
You're a smart, young woman if you recognize the value in that approach
Thank you. I attribute that to my parents, in the way that they raised me.
You've got great parents. They did a very good job raising you
At least, based on what I know of them so far
Indeed I do.. they’re good people.
I'd tell em that personally, if I could. It's hard to find people like that anymore, at least out here in Cali
We’re in AZ.. but yeah, younger generations have been more spoiled than raised.. I admire the effort they put into it, with the homeschooling and all.
Damn. They went the extra mile
You've got a bright future ahead of you. I know it
Thank you. I was working in a dental office, and preparing to train for an assistant position
That's a good field that pays very well
And there will always be demand for them
Indeed.. my grandmother is an assistant
I got laid off due to financial reasons, I’m still not sure if that’s the career I want to pursue or not..
Do whatever it is that makes you happy, but have something to fall back on
Tbh, I need something to do till then.. but my ultimate life goal is to be a mother.
You can get whatever you want, if you want it badly enough
Eventually 😂
All in due time
I'm only 23, I still got some time left. I got a long ways to go
True that
