for me I should say
It's all computer controlled now
can you suggest a good first car to learn to work on? I can't really do anything on my parent's cars, and I need to buy one for myself soon anyways.
Late 90s honda civic
Gotcha. Do you know if those are similar to early 2000s honda accords? The little exp I have is in an 04 accord
Not sure. Only person I knew who had one was my ex girlfriend, and she broke up with me before I could get handsy with it
Her loss. I'd have made that thing ride and run like it was new
Im sure. They are'nt bad cars if you know how to take care of them
The trick with Hondas is you have to use OEM parts for everything
OEM?
Original equipment manufacturer
In other words, use honda brand parts and fluids on a honda
Oh, that makes sense.
anyways, i gtg. thx for teaching me some stuff!
No worries bro, be easy
Any tips for locating leaks on my truck it has some kind of oil look greasy feeling fluid thats on only the left side of the engine and i dont think its oil because ive checked all the lines and gaskets there is a lit bit of a leak around the oil pan gasket but not enough for it to leak on tge ground
@awesomeauthier1326 Timing/valve cover gasket leak most likely.
If you have a maintenance manual for the truck look up it's replacement process and you should see where it is. Then you should be able to follow the leak to the same location to verify it is the source.
Cheap fix if it is so, but your car will be down for 24 hours or so until the gasket maker is done setting.
...
Still only a guess, not enough info in your post to be super accurate.
Um i check the valve cover and its not leaking
Heres a pic of where it drips down from
Thats underneth it
That pic is torward the front near the fan belt and stuff and that is the oil pan to the right
@awesomeauthier1326 Is that also your steering column on the center-left side of the photo?
possible leak locations
If it's an oil pan gasket, then replacement may or may not be worth the time to replacement as it may still leak afterwards, depending on the age and make of your vehicle.
Cleaning everything as well as you can, then running the vehicle for 30 mins or so, so you can see the leak without road grit and grim is also a good way to find the leak.
Finally I can talk about cars with people that don't get triggered
👍
That’s a beautiful Fair Lady 300ZX!
I saw one once that was light yellow.
@Equalibrium that is the left side of my underside of my engine the steering column is on the right i think that is a picture of the power steering pump but thanks for the insight it helps a lot more than you realize
the thing that looks like its leaking and there is some fluid coming from the lines going out of the power steering resivoir so i think im gonna start replacing gaskets if it gets too bad but i dont think its to big of a problem right now at least
it leaks a bit but ill keep tabs and just add more when it needs it
for now im just gonna focuse on getting my lowering blocks on and painting it
Glad to help!
Nice
