One of my more recent models that actually made it to completion

(True art, ngl)

2020-08-16 16:34:11 UTC

Looks amazing.

I'm a little green with envy that you can draw steam engines. I only get to foam on the side or try to catch them in action.

2020-08-16 16:35:21 UTC

It’s not really drawing, it’s 3D modeling

2020-08-16 16:35:22 UTC

XD

2020-08-16 16:36:03 UTC

Still amazing.

2020-08-16 16:36:46 UTC

@Mauler you do model trains or something?

2020-08-16 16:37:01 UTC

Yeah a little bit

2020-08-16 16:37:05 UTC

Oh?

2020-08-16 16:37:16 UTC

I'm hoping to get back into it when in older

2020-08-16 16:37:33 UTC

It’s expensive stuff, lol

2020-08-16 16:37:44 UTC

Yeah.

2020-08-16 16:38:02 UTC

Especially if you're in the 7.5" scale.

2020-08-16 16:38:45 UTC

I feel as if this is getting pretty off topic for <#724090670721269790>, but im not sure where else to take it. 🤔

2020-08-16 16:39:39 UTC

I have to many hobbies

2020-08-16 16:41:26 UTC

I think there's art in model railroading. Especially when you realize that model railroading and building small steam engines from scratch is very much art and lost one at that.

2020-08-16 16:42:19 UTC

That's what I want to capture more of. Videos and photos of the amazingness of steam engines.

2020-08-16 16:42:35 UTC
2020-08-16 16:42:43 UTC

It is indeed an art

2020-08-16 16:43:42 UTC

*brake rigging is dedication to the craft, ngl*

It would be neat if there was a channel for trains/modeling. But otherwise we will have to enjoy the art of it.

2020-08-16 16:44:26 UTC

Wow. @Thomas4peyton such detail.

2020-08-16 16:45:14 UTC

Have you considered making mods/models for things like train simulator? That's some amazing detail and hard work.

2020-08-16 16:46:47 UTC

I’m currently modeling for a logging/mining railroad simulator game that is in early access; with my free time. I really haven’t considered TS or Trainz— that stuff is a little beyond me and my skill set.

2020-08-16 16:48:07 UTC

Awesome.

2020-08-16 17:43:05 UTC

@Thomas4peyton AHA! Another Blender user! How it’s going bro!

2020-08-16 17:44:09 UTC

It’s going good @ChristianChicken1089! Only 2 1/2+ years of suffering from lack of motivation! ^^

2020-08-16 17:47:16 UTC

I used blender like a year or two ago and I made like two things and I haven’t used it since lol. My profile pic was made in blender though

2020-08-16 18:09:29 UTC

the donut tutorial, lol

2020-08-16 18:11:12 UTC

Yeah, I did the donut tutorial before I knew how to use blender well. Couldn’t make the donut. But I got the cup! I should remake this sometime...

2020-08-16 18:12:15 UTC

I suffer from a severe case of LOM (Lack of motivation), Lol. So I hardly get anything done either.

2020-08-16 18:15:05 UTC

i feel the vibe, i really do

2020-08-16 18:16:18 UTC

I feel that. Also when I did the tutorial I followed each stop extremely close and I didn’t really allow myself to actually learn the program, that was a bit annoying

2020-08-16 18:21:02 UTC

I watched about a dozen tutorials and didn't follow them, just gleaned the useful keybinds/methodology/technique

2020-08-16 18:21:45 UTC

Then I practiced said keybinds and their uses for two weeks to get my muscle memory down before I created my first model. x3

2020-08-16 18:23:46 UTC

I feel that, dude...

2020-08-16 18:24:49 UTC

Im sure i could be far better if i had modeled 3-4 times every week or so, but its hard to keep up a schedule of modeling and continued practice.

2020-08-16 18:25:01 UTC

I started Blender and I need to keep watching the tutorials over and over because I keep forgetting how to to things. I eventually gave up.
