2020-09-05 01:44:35 UTC

why does my kitten love to chew on me

2020-09-05 01:44:50 UTC

ive never seen a turtle with a tail before

Kittens chewing on you (typical on the ear) is a sign they were weaned or separated too early from momma cat. Its also a sign they've adopted you as a parent

2020-09-05 01:54:42 UTC

well it hurts and he wont stop even when i flick his ear

Also i learned about a new animal today. Apparently there is such a thing as a peanut butter jellyfish

2020-09-05 01:55:16 UTC

what about a jam jellyfish

@Goose there are a couple ways to shape the behavior away from this. Keep a favorite toy or treat handy to take their attention away from the chewinh

I dont condone the way I stopped my cat from doing such. I react violently to being awoken suddenly by unexpected things from a dead sleep. Im glad my cat didn't wind up hurt, but she never chewed on my ear again....

2020-09-05 01:58:58 UTC

well mine is chewing on my feet when i play games

Its an unfortunate reflex I have from prior life experiences

Chewing is normal in play,

2020-09-05 01:59:46 UTC

i let him nibble my fingers, is that good?

Same reason as chewing on your ear

Google is your friend, there are several pet friendly ways ways to train him away from chewing on you

Or licking an area until its raw

Use catnip toy to distract him from the behavior when he does such is one

Its a sign of affection

Especially if he doesn't draw blood

Usually it means, "i could bite you, but your my friend, so im not"

Or is a suckling like behavior calling you "mom"

> Usually it means, "i could bite you, but your my friend, so im not"
This is usually when the cat bump or rubs their teeth against you

2020-09-05 02:06:27 UTC

oh ok, thanks

> Or is a suckling like behavior calling you "mom"
This is the chewing behavior, typically on the ear

2020-09-05 02:06:37 UTC

so hes not just trying to mess me up

No, not unless he draws blood

But rubbing or scratches from teeth can be a warning as he gets older to stop as he is becoming agitated with your present actions
