@❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ hahaha at my school they basically turn that into the Grade 12 English curriculum lmao. I ditched all the essays that forced us into writing these CRT Lens, Feminist Lens, or Marxist lens
🤮 I'd hate doing that
i loath them to my core. just hate the concept of limited lens
probably only like the Personal Perception lens
dude if I have to right something political in school and I don't get to pick a side, I won't do it
One time my school had a presentation on “toxic masculinity”
ew
> dude if I have to right something political in school and I don't get to pick a side, I won't do it
@JDCREW it's not even something political, the way they presented it? like, it's supposed to enhance our critical thinking by forcing ourselves to think in a "different lens"
what does that even mean??? you have to think differently?
which is what i do on a consistent basis because i debate all the time. but the thought of reviewing literature exclusively through the oppressive lens makes me feel restricted
oh yeah that makes sense
> what does that even mean??? you have to think differently?
@JDCREW yup. so if you pick crt, you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in race. if you pick feminist you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in gender. if you pick marxism, you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in class

@❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ They absolutely are. if the theme of the book is about racism, we don't need to dig hard to find because the authors woven it in expertly (if they can't, they're a bad writer). but with those lens you actively HAVE TO DIG in and analyze all the tiny details
it's like sjw training 101
but it sounds like training you to look for unnecessary details?
I'm okay with them being classes if we could *choose* to be in them
enforcing it in a curriculum? I take issue with that
Basically it's more bs indoctrination
yeah. it's in the curriculum 😬 if it wasn't for covid and they freeze our marks i'd have failed the class because i did not turn in any of the assignment that force us to use those lens
Write a letter to the white house <:dogekek:726878872607653918>
