The more I argue with leftists the more right wing I become

2020-11-17 15:27:28 UTC

“REEEEEEE CONSERVATIVE IN DENIAL” like bro I thought you were trying to convince me to become a leftist, not scare me away

2020-11-17 15:27:36 UTC

LMAOOOOO

2020-11-17 15:27:56 UTC

i had a test to show i'm a centrist and all of my leftist friends say i'm clearly alt-right

2020-11-17 15:28:43 UTC

Maybe from their perspective, yes

2020-11-17 15:32:10 UTC

I’m “alt right” like lmfao I’m barely right of center

2020-11-17 15:33:20 UTC

2020-11-17 15:35:00 UTC

Dankleft makes me lose brain cells

2020-11-17 15:38:55 UTC

@isoboto
Anything that isn't as radical as they are are automatically alt-right
They can't wrap their minds around not taking a side or not being central

2020-11-17 15:51:50 UTC

yupppp. and what i'm surprised about is that they aren't that far left

2020-11-17 15:51:58 UTC

just slightly more left than me lmao

2020-11-17 15:53:16 UTC

I keep pushing the fact that I'm centrist to a lot of my friends but they probably think that because I don't agree with them right away and emotionally that I'm automatically against them and on the "alt-right"

2020-11-17 15:53:28 UTC

I'm allowed not to have an opinion <:dogekek:726878872607653918>

@❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ hahaha at my school they basically turn that into the Grade 12 English curriculum lmao. I ditched all the essays that forced us into writing these CRT Lens, Feminist Lens, or Marxist lens

2020-11-17 16:30:28 UTC

🤮 I'd hate doing that

2020-11-17 16:31:36 UTC

i loath them to my core. just hate the concept of limited lens

2020-11-17 16:31:47 UTC

probably only like the Personal Perception lens

2020-11-17 16:32:11 UTC

dude if I have to right something political in school and I don't get to pick a side, I won't do it

2020-11-17 16:32:20 UTC

One time my school had a presentation on “toxic masculinity”

2020-11-17 16:33:01 UTC

ew

2020-11-17 16:33:23 UTC

> dude if I have to right something political in school and I don't get to pick a side, I won't do it
@JDCREW it's not even something political, the way they presented it? like, it's supposed to enhance our critical thinking by forcing ourselves to think in a "different lens"

2020-11-17 16:34:03 UTC

what does that even mean??? you have to think differently?

2020-11-17 16:34:15 UTC

which is what i do on a consistent basis because i debate all the time. but the thought of reviewing literature exclusively through the oppressive lens makes me feel restricted

2020-11-17 16:34:47 UTC

oh yeah that makes sense

2020-11-17 16:34:49 UTC

> @JDCREW it's not even something political, the way they presented it? like, it's supposed to enhance our critical thinking by forcing ourselves to think in a "different lens"
@isoboto
I call those Trojan Horses

2020-11-17 16:35:07 UTC

> what does that even mean??? you have to think differently?
@JDCREW yup. so if you pick crt, you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in race. if you pick feminist you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in gender. if you pick marxism, you have to think in terms of oppressor/oppressed factoring in class

2020-11-17 16:36:16 UTC

> @isoboto
> I call those Trojan Horses
@❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ They absolutely are. if the theme of the book is about racism, we don't need to dig hard to find because the authors woven it in expertly (if they can't, they're a bad writer). but with those lens you actively HAVE TO DIG in and analyze all the tiny details
