Yes, but they also have some of the worst issues and tax rates. Let’s start with CA as a whole, is huge so I’d hope it would have good economy, however if you dive deeper, CA has high taxes, extremely high cost of living, cities with high crime rates, cities with the highest homeless population in the United States (goes back tot hat thing about high cost), taxing things heavily if you use too much water, or drink either he wrong kind of straw. Michigan Id hardly called good if you looked at Detroit in the past 30 years, and a governor that is proportionally disliked by MI because of government over reach during COVID (also seen in many other states), high crime rates (especially Detroit) and cutting back state Police and city police budgets over political virtue signaling because that’s totally going to help anything... Alright, now to New York, specifically New York City, High taxes, once again high cost of living, pretty high crime especially if you walk down the wrong street.
Chicago: Complete shit hole of a city, gets 50+ shootings and gang wars a weekend, high taxes, incredibly high crime, not at all a clean city, makes it just like NY and CA extremely difficult to get proper permits to protect yourself, while at the same time wanting to (if they haven’t already) cut budgets to first responders that keep the city from getting worse than it is. Idk much about homelessness in Chicago but I would imagine it’s not good, also I believe Chicago was rated as one of the dirtiest cities, and overtook NYC in the rodent infestation category
