i completely agree with this. i know not all cops are bad, but there are always improvement to be made

and there are some serious racial problems we can attempt to combat

Now where do you think the racial problems are?

sure. we might not agree on the degree of racial issues, but i absolutely think there are areas that we have to combat to make sure everybody is treated better. that process should included the local people, too, to strengthen the relationship between pd and people they are supposed to serve and protect

It's all a case of weeding out the bad caps, who seep in with relaxed requirements or funding or a negative public view of police

Most of the corruption happens in the gang filled areas

Only problem is that you can't get new cops in without getting rid of the gangs, but you can't get rid of the gangs without bringing in new cops

That's why cops need more funding, doubly so

I do wonder of how cops interact can be handled better, sure it won’t mark a difference with gang members not not all are gang members

I would argue they need to be restructured

like social workers, demiliterization, more community intagration, that sound like a good idea?

well for social workers it would be really hard to find people willing to do it or if the person won’t straight up attack the social worker

They are really unpredictable

thats a situation were you use heavily armed police

But anybody could be on drugs, you cant tell without speaking to them

Lots of situations cops face are unpredictable, with an equal amount of people who try violent acts. Watch some Donut Operator, as his cop body cam footage breakdowns were quite eye opening. The decent people know to behave, and the indecent try to attack. Even in the heated moment, most cops show incredible restraint and composure. These body cams plainly show that regular cops are needed, for good reason. A good thing is using more force than the perp, because we want to keep our cops alive. Otherwise we risk more cops getting injured or killed needlessly

but like domestic abuse, a guy on the roof, an od etc, jobs not meant for the pd have been lump, wrongfully, onto them without trianing them for it or giving them the tools to respond
