My school has been hybrid since October and only one kid has gotten Covid and he was asymptomatic, and it perfectly fine now. Yet the teachers union in my town wants to go full remote until January because “one kid with Covid is too many”

Chicago is remote learning and the teacher's union is fighting them to not reopen. They claimed for so long how essential they are and now when it benefits them, they claim they did not sign up for this. Some teachers are filing ADA exemptions to not go back at all. If kids aren't back by January the schools lose funding. There might not be schools for anyone to go back to...

My English teacher goes on rants about how racist America is and that it’s worse for blacks now than in the 60s, and the sad thing is half of them believe it.

Yeah I’m lucky that my suburb school has a few normal people too, my law teacher is a constitutionalist but the class is an elective (unlike English) so not everyone can learn what he teaches. The class is like half civics class and half legal system tbh
