Dang. Yeah, I've had similar instances happen except they were online relationships with people who viewed me as disposable. Straight up was blocked by multiple people, was reported, harassed, and talked about behind my back for supporting cops and Trump in "fandom circles where it wasn't wanted." Ironically, they all had BLM stuff in their bios or were dating people who were like that

The issue is that people have their heads.. for the lack of a better phrase, heads so far up their asses, they wouldn't stop to really think that they may be instigating the problem, the "division" they love to claim Trump + Trump supporters, and law enforcement supporters (AKA responsible citizens). @Error 404 , I respect that you seem headstrong, do not yourself be convinced by people than possibly know less than you do. Pitty the fool. The only issue is how your opinions can affect your academics so my suggestion is to be a little careful about articulating your opinions, such that it would be harder for them to call you names, break friend circles, etc. And if at all, the fact that they decided to break their friendship with you because of an opinion, regardless of whether either one mentioned opinions have merit, is sad. Proves that they are immature and are not worth your time. Find people that even in disagreement, can still see past that and be close friends. Lead by example. Having your own opinion is a great start. Good luck and cheers.

I feel awful. Seeing kids like this.. sickening. My younger sibling has that mentality of orange man bad, police racist and bad, white people racist, etc.. I had to sit and listen to her (get ready for a made up word) *wordahrrea*[a constant stream on nonsense coming out of some moron's mouth] and break apart everything she thought to be true, taught to her by her TEACHERS. But the only way to really fix this is to deconstruct the indoctrination of children in post-secondary. Break it apart, expose the truth and offer a platform for free opinion. As a political science student in CANADA of all places, I cannot stand this monolithic thinking. People are sheep. And if I have to be a wolf for them to realize their happy safe space isn't real, I'll do so. And I have. You may have just convinced me to accept the internship offer I got for Turning Point USA. God damn.

@chaz well.. I put my point across to someone who is still in school. I wouldn't want to give them 2 years of university level political science when I can instead, give them a good idea that they can have their own mind with a made up word.
