It had this idea of copying the consciousness over to another body. It plays it off like you're switching from one body to another, but as you go through the game, you see it's basically 'copy/pasting' your mind, and that copy becomes a separate entity.
The computer system guiding you, telling you that if you get get to the escape pod, you can transfer your consciousness onto the ship, but when you finally get there and you "complete the transfer," you're still standing outside the rocket as it takes off because what's on the ship isn't you, it's just a copy of you where you left off.... and IT will think the journey was successful as you remain outside.

In the past I've said making a vaccine for this was going to be hard, since past attempts at SARS vaccines have been catastrophic in so far as they harm or kill the participants, sometimes a long ways down the road.

The NVAX trials do not show the dangers presented in this article and while that may be true, the World Economic Forum notes that the normal time from the beginning of Phase I for a vaccine to Phase III in trials is 5-9 years.
There have been multiple attempts at SARS and MERS over the last 50+ years and none successful despite the urgent nature the severity of those viruses demand,
If there hasn't been success over all those attempts, even with the reasearch of the the entire world I do not trust them to safely produce one in under a year when the normal FDA PHase I-III period is at least 5 years. The disclaimer to this is, someone does point out it can take little to no time at all to develop a 90% effective vaccine and that it's mostly beauracracy and funding to get it through all the trials

Most of you reading this are under 40 but even to those who aren't maybe it decreases to 99.5% or for your parents / grandparents 95.5%, that still should not justify the risk of taking something we have little to no data on as far as vaccines go.

For the traditional vaccines the question should come down, do you trust the trials (the comapny) nd the FDA (the government). Keep in mind NVAX has been working on this system since before the outbreak, however there are also "conspiratorial" allegations of a wider agenda that also were before the outbreak.
