because they make an average of 32k a year
and that would generally be considered lower middle to lower class depending on region
ahh there's that "average" crap again. That takes people at entry level and averages them with skilled people.
What are the high and low of the position??
true
around 80k for a manager position
and 23k at entry level
i 100% agree with some of your points its just that america relys on the working class and the lower incomed people
$80K is middle class nearly everywhere in the US.
No the US, uses unskilled labor instead of innovation because its cheaper. Unskilled labor is just that, unskilled. That makes it cheap. Once that labor becomes skilled it gets expensive fast. I hire completely unskilled labor at minimum wage in intern positions in an engineering company. About 15%-20% have what it takes to move beyond an intern. In 4-5 years they can be making $25/hr. I have people with no college at all making $50-$100 an hour with experience. That's what a low entry level wage provides, an opportunity to be better.
are you saying that young people before experience work at low income jobs?
No, not at all. I'm saying unskilled people work at low income jobs that exist only because unskilled is cheap.
yes
but if everyone develops skills than no one would want to work at some assembly line making low income
If you find an older adult in a job that is an unskilled labor job, he has an issue that can't be addressed by an increase in minimum wage. That issue might be youth and inexperience, it might be a lack of language skills, it might be can't pass a bleedin' piss-test.
The reason only 14%-20% of the interns make it is half the time they simply are incapable of showing up on time, the other half fail drug tests at some point
or both
interesting
where are you from bar?
Southeast Texas east of Houston a bit
is that a dem area?
nope, not even close. The closest thing to a "liberal" around here is the lady who doesn't have a laser on her handgun.
aha awesome
i assume there is low crime then?
Where I live there is very little. Where the office is, is much closer to town and a bit rough. The office and the construction base are in an industrial area near Houston.
ah
i assume the houston and area region is dem
Bar is totally correct, the minimum wage was created so high school kids wouldn’t have to work for $1 a day... minimum wage jobs are there to give unskilled workers, work skills they need; showing up on time, not doing drugs, doing the job they are hired for, etc. if a person who is over 21 is still working at a minimum wage job it shows either choice( not wanting advancement because of circumstances) or lack of work ethic
some of the hardest working people unfortunatley dont have the skills though
Then they need to choose a different job. The problem is they begin to make bad choices that then limit their ability to be better. If you have no skills, it is stupid to start a family.
But if you start at minimum wage, the longer you work the more your pay increases...hard workers imply they have basic work skills. They might not have the job skills for the job, but then they need to find where their skills actually lie.
agree bar
Then some leftist wants ME to subsidize their bad choices and call me selfish when I refuse.
Every family for themselves. If you screw up your kids don’t expect others to fix their mistakes. Did you know in the United States people gave more to charity before The New Deal than after, because taxes were raised and the government was “taking” the charity role. I truly believe that if all entitlements were removed, people would be ok, because others would step up and support those who truly needed it rather than the con men & women who take advantage of them now.
The giving of charity requires one to be morally motivated to do so. The most common motivator was faith. That also happens to be more absent in our country as of late.

.... and that is the farthest things from the minds of some people
Good thing his bolt didn’t close. Otherwise it would have been an attempted murder charge because h probably can’t hit shit
a few in his group did end up with self inflicted wounds at that 'event'...lol

Assembly line jobs exist only because there is cheap labor to fill those jobs. Go on youtube and watch some of those jobs, a machine would do it faster and more accurate. But a machine is expensive, cheap labor is cheap and disposable. There is another unskilled worker around every corner.
The motivation remains for many, but the means have been stolen by the government via taxes. Even then, Americans are still the most generous people in the world.
