and out

2020-07-13 17:04:45 UTC

My black cousin was adopted and he is awesome, he really is family to us, adoption is great

2020-07-13 17:05:11 UTC

@WarWiz hope you're doin better now

2020-07-13 17:05:12 UTC

adoption is great, but the living condition for children that may have to live in those kinds of places for a decade or more is horrible.

2020-07-13 17:05:16 UTC

i wouldnt wish it on anyone.

2020-07-13 17:05:27 UTC

Adoption is awesome, the foster care system isn't though.

2020-07-13 17:05:34 UTC

I was a nurse for 25 years. I am also a Christian and pro-life. I know that the instances where where a pregnant woman's life is endangered by the child are rare in the extreme. If the mother dies before the child is viable, both die. Therefore if the child can not be saved at all, but the mom can, abortion would be appropriate. But this is an extremely rare situation. Every effort must be made, first, to avoid this before abortion can be considered.

Oh ya I own a 40 acre ranch and 4 kids πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

2020-07-13 17:05:41 UTC

better than being dead

2020-07-13 17:05:48 UTC

Yeah, I think he is very lucky to get a great family and whatnot, but the foster care system is awful from what I have heard

2020-07-13 17:05:53 UTC

i have a more pessimistic view on the topic, Alin.

2020-07-13 17:05:54 UTC

ohyeah, foster parents. i heard some horror stories about foster parents. people that just take in kids for the extra cash and then treat the kids like absolute garbage

2020-07-13 17:06:07 UTC

I had a friend in the foster system

2020-07-13 17:06:24 UTC

sometimes i feel like they would be better off not getting a chance, rather than the only thing they know being actual hell.

2020-07-13 17:06:38 UTC

call me fucked up, but idk man.

2020-07-13 17:07:03 UTC

Adoption is so much better than foster, because with adoption the parents are dead set on having this kid as their own, but foster they treat the kids like shit and only do it for money

2020-07-13 17:07:10 UTC

that's why screening is so important. government seems to lack the ability to do things correctly

2020-07-13 17:07:25 UTC

its fucking sad.

2020-07-13 17:07:43 UTC

The foster care system is inherently flawed

2020-07-13 17:07:53 UTC

Foster is for money and sometimes the kids that live there can be a bad influence or a problem

2020-07-13 17:07:56 UTC

These people don't care about the kids, its only for money

2020-07-13 17:07:58 UTC

There are definitely some good foster parents, but they aren't the majority

2020-07-13 17:08:19 UTC

But there absolutely are some great foster parents out there, you just don't really hear about them

2020-07-13 17:08:45 UTC

yeah there are also some of the trouble makers, kids who have grown in horrible situations and are violent or cause just major issues

2020-07-13 17:09:02 UTC

therapy should be a requirement, idk if it is or not

2020-07-13 17:09:12 UTC

Military is a good option when you have nothing

2020-07-13 17:09:21 UTC

^

2020-07-13 17:09:33 UTC

they pay for schooling and all that

2020-07-13 17:10:01 UTC

You learn a lot of skills too. I mean if nothing else, it's there as a last resort

2020-07-13 17:10:39 UTC

man... on a slightly different topic, people always talk about "therapy this, therapy that" but holy fucking shit. some of you do, but does everyone know how much therapy costs???

2020-07-13 17:10:53 UTC

i think therapy should be a universally accessible thing

2020-07-13 17:10:55 UTC

Depends on your insurance and the therapist, but yes.

2020-07-13 17:11:00 UTC

but holy fucking shit. $110 a session.

2020-07-13 17:11:06 UTC

a 1 hour session

2020-07-13 17:11:09 UTC

$110

2020-07-13 17:11:11 UTC

I've seen $180 for a half hour.

2020-07-13 17:11:16 UTC

yeah it's expensive

2020-07-13 17:11:16 UTC

what the fuck.

2020-07-13 17:11:25 UTC

It's because insurance pays for most of it

2020-07-13 17:11:32 UTC

2020-07-13 17:11:37 UTC

So they can charge insane fees because the insurance companies pay it, and they make a ton of money
