That economy was so demanding and unsustainable, that being at war was simply more desirable than being at peace, since war is a great business. That's what saved them from collapsing earlier.

We may see a couple little changes in regards to the 2nd amendment, but other then that, I think the conservative base of california has either left, or stopped trying

See, back in the early 2000s, California sent out a vote to see what the citizens thought about legalizing gay marriage, and the vote of overwhelmingly opposed to it, however the governor swept that under the rug and went forth with it anyways
