only issue I can find is the session 0 hard stop content. Every session 0 I ask players what they will not tolerate in game and try and tip toe around it. luckily there isn't anything severely gimping with content

2020-10-07 22:45:27 UTC

Lost me there. I haven't played DnD for almost a decade, and that was 4.0

2020-10-07 22:46:35 UTC

it's some Socjus thing that I kinda feel makes sense. Just at Session 0 ask the party what stuff they don't want to have happen in game

2020-10-07 22:46:58 UTC

Session 0 means pre-game setup?

2020-10-07 22:47:03 UTC

yeah

2020-10-07 22:47:18 UTC

Okay. Wasn't sure if it was that, or a site.

2020-10-07 22:47:21 UTC

character creation, plot planning, all that stuff

2020-10-07 22:47:39 UTC

trying to find the rating you can use for a game

2020-10-07 22:47:57 UTC

like one player doesn't like overtly sexual jokes

2020-10-07 22:48:32 UTC

When I GM, I supply the rating as part of the setup.

2020-10-07 22:49:03 UTC

"Star Wars, PG-13, Between Empire and Jedi, non-Force users."

2020-10-07 22:49:33 UTC

I can bring up content that could glance into R to X, depending on what goes on in the setting

2020-10-07 22:49:49 UTC

like underdark campaign where the party is a bunch of slaves

2020-10-07 22:50:11 UTC

Oh, I let my games have a bit of leeway, but I keep an eye on the tone.

2020-10-07 22:50:19 UTC

could end up with stuff that could make others squeamish

2020-10-07 22:50:33 UTC

Gen 5 music= best music don't @me

2020-10-07 22:50:52 UTC

My last Star Wars the players would make comments OOC all over, but the game stayed PG-13 throughout.

2020-10-07 22:51:20 UTC

yeah one game I played one on one, resulted with the player saying no limits,

2020-10-07 22:51:48 UTC

I only run groups of three or more. Otherwise, hard feelings tend to come up.

2020-10-07 22:51:56 UTC

was my GF

2020-10-07 22:53:23 UTC

anyways so like my WM campaign I'm working on, gonna try to make it somewhere between a T and a M

2020-10-07 22:53:46 UTC

Makes sense.

2020-10-07 22:54:42 UTC

one I'm in now started out talking about it being a T now it's been cut down to somewhere between E and E10

2020-10-07 22:55:52 UTC

Mine wander all over that way. The rating I use is the upper limit, but some sessions are quieter, some are more violent.

2020-10-07 22:56:20 UTC

I don't really analyze the rating by session, as long as no one steps too far out of bounds.

2020-10-07 23:01:49 UTC

I guesstimate the rating by campaign

2020-10-07 23:02:22 UTC

overall it's just what makes the other players go "Nope, I'm out." I will try to avoid

2020-10-07 23:04:44 UTC

I've had players after sessions say something wasn't quite gelling with them. If it's not just a weird thing, I try to work with them.

2020-10-07 23:05:41 UTC

yeah bout the same, ask for that beforehand at session 0

2020-10-07 23:05:44 UTC

On the other hand, I've had players decide that everyone else having fun wasn't how they wanted to play, so I told them kindly I'd write them out.

2020-10-07 23:06:46 UTC

had a few like that, also had at least one that was trying to argue with me because he wanted to munchkin and I wouldn't let him "Find" things he wanted to benefit his charcter

2020-10-07 23:06:55 UTC

LOL

2020-10-07 23:07:06 UTC

like he wanted to find a pheonix pet

2020-10-07 23:07:17 UTC

because the feathers could be used in potions

2020-10-07 23:07:46 UTC

Last full run, a player wanted to spend every session in his room aboard ship experimenting.

2020-10-07 23:07:52 UTC

yeah

2020-10-07 23:08:08 UTC

I told the kid he couldn't have the pet because there was maybe like 6 in the whole world

2020-10-07 23:08:16 UTC

Mind you, not with any results, but he wanted to have more time devoted to him doing nothing.

2020-10-07 23:08:30 UTC

downtime is needed to have results

2020-10-07 23:09:09 UTC

anyways there was like 6 of these pheonixes in the entire in game world

2020-10-07 23:09:17 UTC

well hopefully the 2021 mustang M1s are good because otherwise I am passing up a $110,305 car that I can get for $95,600 right now
