Welcome to the quieter room.
am poking around for people who want to try out DnD
got like a party of 2 right now
Good luck. There's not many of us gamers on this server.
...Or at least, few that are willing to play.
There was chatter about starting up an RP channel a while ago, but it was nixed.
only issue I can find is the session 0 hard stop content. Every session 0 I ask players what they will not tolerate in game and try and tip toe around it. luckily there isn't anything severely gimping with content
Lost me there. I haven't played DnD for almost a decade, and that was 4.0
it's some Socjus thing that I kinda feel makes sense. Just at Session 0 ask the party what stuff they don't want to have happen in game
Session 0 means pre-game setup?
yeah
Okay. Wasn't sure if it was that, or a site.
character creation, plot planning, all that stuff
trying to find the rating you can use for a game
like one player doesn't like overtly sexual jokes
When I GM, I supply the rating as part of the setup.
"Star Wars, PG-13, Between Empire and Jedi, non-Force users."
I can bring up content that could glance into R to X, depending on what goes on in the setting
like underdark campaign where the party is a bunch of slaves
Oh, I let my games have a bit of leeway, but I keep an eye on the tone.
Gen 5 music= best music don't @me
My last Star Wars the players would make comments OOC all over, but the game stayed PG-13 throughout.
yeah one game I played one on one, resulted with the player saying no limits,
I only run groups of three or more. Otherwise, hard feelings tend to come up.
was my GF
anyways so like my WM campaign I'm working on, gonna try to make it somewhere between a T and a M
Makes sense.
one I'm in now started out talking about it being a T now it's been cut down to somewhere between E and E10
Mine wander all over that way. The rating I use is the upper limit, but some sessions are quieter, some are more violent.
I don't really analyze the rating by session, as long as no one steps too far out of bounds.
I guesstimate the rating by campaign
overall it's just what makes the other players go "Nope, I'm out." I will try to avoid
I've had players after sessions say something wasn't quite gelling with them. If it's not just a weird thing, I try to work with them.
yeah bout the same, ask for that beforehand at session 0
On the other hand, I've had players decide that everyone else having fun wasn't how they wanted to play, so I told them kindly I'd write them out.
had a few like that, also had at least one that was trying to argue with me because he wanted to munchkin and I wouldn't let him "Find" things he wanted to benefit his charcter
LOL
like he wanted to find a pheonix pet
because the feathers could be used in potions
Last full run, a player wanted to spend every session in his room aboard ship experimenting.
