2020-10-26 03:36:04 UTC

Give me a sec, bratling...

2020-10-26 03:37:44 UTC

I also had a lab growing up that was one of the biggest dogs I've still ever seen, he was pure mussle and bone. He had a jawl that could break ham bones in a single bite but he was the sweetest and was great with kids. However he was dumber then a rock. He would stand in the storms rather then get in his dog house. He also one bad blizzard my parents took him into the garage and preceded to eat canisters of motor oil for no reason.

oh

2020-10-26 03:38:09 UTC

oh no

2020-10-26 03:38:22 UTC

Oh no

2020-10-26 03:38:33 UTC

Did he die?

2020-10-26 03:38:46 UTC

Or get sick?

2020-10-26 03:40:07 UTC

He lived for many more years, he mainly just wanted to crew on the canisters. Did give him diarrhea though.

He had one hell of a stomach. He ate every tree in the yard, our air conditioner one fourth of july weekend, and even a brick at one point...

Photography, Snow.

2020-10-26 03:41:05 UTC

Dammit. I thought my lab was special in his dumbness. Sadly, I had to put him down due to Lyme disease

2020-10-26 03:42:09 UTC

Heh. Smartest dog I ever had was a black/golden Lab mix.

2020-10-26 03:42:19 UTC

My family had to put down our old golden retriever when he was 15. One of the hardest things ever, I cried my heart out

2020-10-26 03:43:04 UTC

Losing a friend of 9 years. We got him when we were six

2020-10-26 03:43:16 UTC

We meaning my siblings that are my age

2020-10-26 03:43:25 UTC

Its not an easy thing. But it is more humane than letting them suffer

2020-10-26 03:43:58 UTC

Exactly, we had come to that realization. He was eating but still losing weight because his body wouldn’t process it. He was very sick and in pain

2020-10-26 03:44:32 UTC

I had to put my last dog down. She was blind, lost all control of her bodily functions due to age.

2020-10-26 03:44:47 UTC

It really isn't ever easy to lose a fur baby. I lost two earlier this year. It's good if you can let them go easier rather than hurting.

2020-10-26 03:44:55 UTC

Dang this talk about our loyal friends got me in the feels 😢😢

2020-10-26 03:45:10 UTC

❤️

2020-10-26 03:45:33 UTC

I've still got my 6 turds that are worthlessly purrfect though.

2020-10-26 03:45:37 UTC

Had to put down one of my dogs senior year of high school because he developed a bleeding on his liver and would unlikely survive the surgery. While that was very hard, it was compounded because the next day I had anatomy class and we were dissecting cats. Not the same as if it was a dog but it was hard less then 24 hours later.

2020-10-26 03:45:47 UTC

Ouch.

2020-10-26 03:45:51 UTC

Yeah, that would suck.

2020-10-26 03:45:54 UTC
2020-10-26 03:46:01 UTC

2020-10-26 03:47:06 UTC

As the “head of household”, its my duty to take care of their final moments. Things that they dont warn you about parenting

2020-10-26 03:47:48 UTC

Yeeeeah, not a fun time to be the parent.

2020-10-26 03:48:36 UTC

Nope. But I do my best to teach about loss, remembering, and joy

2020-10-26 04:00:40 UTC
