And indeed! They're still rambling about all the stuff that doesn't matter.

2020-10-26 17:09:32 UTC

Thatโ€™s gonna make so many people mad

2020-10-26 17:10:52 UTC

Dumb it down a bit...i misplaced my latin decoder ring in my other jacket. Lol

Not appealing to authority as an argument. Appealing to we are moderators and admins trying to keep things out of touchy topics that Discord doesn't like and could get the server removed. If you want to have an argument, that is one thing, but this wasn't me arguing or not wanting to. This is me saying we aren't having that discussion.

@Doc I am not arguing with you. I am telling you that we are not discussing that topic here.

2020-10-26 17:13:24 UTC

Dude. Move on

2020-10-26 17:13:56 UTC

Can acb still get outvoted? Geez ...i hope she doesn't.

2020-10-26 17:14:13 UTC

@Doc we are not looking to discuss this here. It was starting cross a line. Drop it.

2020-10-26 17:14:36 UTC

Nah, we had 51 yesterday and then a Dem got sick of the bs and made a public announcement she'd be voting *FOR* the confirmation so that gave us 52.

2020-10-26 17:14:40 UTC

2020-10-26 17:14:54 UTC

That's great news.

2020-10-26 17:15:01 UTC

I think yesterday it was like 51-47.

2020-10-26 17:15:13 UTC

So today it should be 52-whatever they end up with.

2020-10-26 17:15:51 UTC

Sorry, those got reversed. My Discord is being wonky.

2020-10-26 17:16:06 UTC

Discord has the hiccups right now

2020-10-26 17:16:13 UTC

Great, it isn't me...

2020-10-26 17:16:23 UTC

Oh yeah? That's good to know. I thought it was just my internet being all bumpkins again. lol

2020-10-26 17:16:59 UTC

It's discord... i had to restart my app too.

2020-10-26 17:18:01 UTC

Got ya.

2020-10-26 17:18:32 UTC

> I think yesterday it was like 51-47.
This is cutting it a bit close...yikes.

2020-10-26 17:20:02 UTC

Obviously it isn't because she isn't qualified for the job.

2020-10-26 17:20:09 UTC

It is, but itโ€™s to be expected given the circus theyโ€™ve made of the past two confirmations.

2020-10-26 17:20:54 UTC

They donโ€™t want people to pay attention to their real โ€œprecedentโ€ from their own party in a situation like this.

2020-10-26 17:21:25 UTC

What's the "precedent"?

2020-10-26 17:21:48 UTC

Her qualifications.

2020-10-26 17:21:50 UTC

Super precedent ๐Ÿ˜‰

2020-10-26 17:22:31 UTC

"Orange" precedent?

2020-10-26 17:24:10 UTC

Check out Abe Fortas from 1968. Not to plug myself, but Iโ€™ve been working on a video compiling it all for perspective for two weeks already. Itโ€™s my first real project so itโ€™s taking a long time but itโ€™s nuts to compare the two situations.

2020-10-26 17:25:48 UTC

I can give you all the major players and such to help you narrow it down but the parallels are insane and when I heard Harris invoke โ€œhonest Aneโ€ I was like well yeah, cause the truth is A Tale of TWO Abes.

2020-10-26 17:28:01 UTC

He was a well-respected attorney from the case of Gideon vs. Wainwright and confirmed a Justice in โ€˜65 by Johnson. In โ€˜67 Johnson then confirmed Marshall.

2020-10-26 17:28:52 UTC

In June of โ€˜68, the Chief Justice wanted to retire so he warned Johnson to fill his spot to keep a potential Nixon nomination.

2020-10-26 17:29:40 UTC

Johnson pusher Fortas forward as nominee for Chief, opening himself up a FOURTH seat nomination.

2020-10-26 17:30:53 UTC

Then Fortas went before the committee of his own volition and, under oath now, had to admit to some ethical questions.

2020-10-26 17:32:06 UTC

He admitted to still having regular meetings with the President, disclosing Court discussions during those meetings, and took money from former partners and clients who might have cases come before him.

I think the honest abe thing harris left out the fact that it took time for people to go back and forth to washington. Transportation back then wasn't as good.
