2020-12-17 02:57:11 UTC

2020-12-17 02:57:16 UTC

2020-12-17 02:58:03 UTC

just some rough love from brother-to-brother 😂

2020-12-17 02:58:14 UTC

mods don't see it that way

2020-12-17 02:58:27 UTC

Real is what we can touch, smell, see, and feel. A figment of our imagination may also be based upon real things, but in an imaginative order of events. Reality is the world as it goes on, regardless if we recognize it or not.

2020-12-17 02:58:32 UTC

look in one direction only and you'll find nothing too <:thinking:726878987837636698>

2020-12-17 02:58:50 UTC

wear a eyemask and you'll find nothing too <:thinking:726878987837636698>

2020-12-17 02:59:21 UTC

better yet: be blind and you'll absolutely find nothing at all <:thinking:726878987837636698>

2020-12-17 02:59:57 UTC

We do live in a millennium of the blind...

2020-12-17 03:00:47 UTC

but that means history is unreal. not many of us were there to validate whether anything happens in history books are real. plus, "reality" depends on your information/knowledge.

2020-12-17 03:03:29 UTC

Yeah. Our optimism bias tends to overlook the unsavory details starting at us. Most of history is accurately reported, or so we think. If there is no objective, everything is subjective. Some say that reality is an agreed upon hallucination, of which they have a point with hoaxes like Russian Collusion. Best get some perspective away from the rabbit hole regularly, or you conflate that which is not there

2020-12-17 03:05:56 UTC

yup. plus, i'd agree "reality" is what we (as a society or as humans) agree as "true", it's all about confidence and trust in what we think is "reality". i think we're in a state of constantly seeking out something to anchor our trust on, because otherwise we'll go crazy

2020-12-17 03:06:34 UTC

you can't change history but you can change how it's portray, in history class all we learn about is every shitty thing white people did

2020-12-17 03:07:49 UTC

Fine points. There are those who are secure in the way it is. There are also those who are restless. Most of the public tends to stay within the "secure" group not because their moral compass is stable, but rather they'd not think about bad things. It's the sorta shock when people find out about predators, a blanket disbelief

2020-12-17 03:10:28 UTC

history is written by the victor. not just the victor of the wars/battles. but victors of the current time

2020-12-17 03:10:52 UTC

And not all victors are the rightful or moral ones either

2020-12-17 03:11:08 UTC

everyone is the protagonist in his own story

2020-12-17 03:11:10 UTC

that's true, we haven't learned about how the nazis felt when they lost in ww2, not like we want to know but

2020-12-17 03:13:26 UTC

Southerners and their dogged defense of the Confederacy comes to mind

2020-12-17 03:14:22 UTC

i think i read a book about nazi soldiers once (can't remember for sure because it has been forever since i read a book)

2020-12-17 03:14:45 UTC

they still refer to the civil war as "the northern aggression" or something

2020-12-17 03:14:58 UTC

The post-WW2 ethnic deportations of Stalin were atrocious violations of human rights

2020-12-17 03:15:01 UTC

I haven't read a book for like 2 months

2020-12-17 03:15:34 UTC

Yep, never mind the Confederacy stood for bad government and rich elitism. Oh yeah and an immoral labor system...

2020-12-17 03:16:14 UTC

i haven't read a book for 2 years.........except for textbooks -- those bring no joy

2020-12-17 03:16:42 UTC

2020-12-17 05:06:48 UTC

Preached about how all criminals should be forgiven and given free stuff because they are humans and humans make mistakes, but when I turned in an assignment 2 weeks late. It can't be given and points because I have to learn responsibility

2020-12-17 05:08:08 UTC

He talks about being compassionate to the murderers, rapist, and pedophiles, because they are humans too and they made mistakes

2020-12-17 05:09:22 UTC

but he says he can't be compassionate about me being stressed out because of all the fucking assignments him and my other teachers gave, because "Its my fault I didn't do the work"

2020-12-17 05:10:17 UTC

like WTF, he says forgive and be compassionate to rapists, murderers, and pedophiles, but also says you can't be forgive or compassionate to someone who turned in their assignment 2 weeks late

2020-12-17 05:36:33 UTC

I feel you, dude. I feel you

2020-12-17 05:42:12 UTC

2020-12-17 05:46:04 UTC

Cuz being a pedo is not as bad as turning in an assignment late <:Tucker:781196327559495720>

2020-12-17 05:52:46 UTC

Murderers, killers, etc. They can be reform, you know? But turning in assaignment late? Fuck you you are ending up no where

2020-12-17 05:53:21 UTC

Although now that i think about it, maybe thats the goal. Making you failed the class so they can extend sympathy later on
