All right guys, it's that time again. I'm trying to look up how to clean out a sponge used for cleaning a soldering iron. So far, Daddy Google rejiggers my search to mean "how to clean a soldering iron :^)" and won't give me any useful results so far. Anyone know how to clean a sponge like that?

I also had issues with the water being so hard that squeezing the sponge dry after my attempts at washing would still leave enough minerals to contaminate the tip.
