I remember a story that my grandmother would tell me about my great grandmother and how she was murdered the the CCP (Cuban Communist Party), shortly after the revolution, Castro sent out mercenaries to the village province of Sierra Maestra. My great grandmother at the time didn't want anything to do with offering her farmland to a collective (which has been in our family for generations as a reliable form of profit by exporting it to the US), to make a long story short, communist rebels ended up burning our farmland and farmhouse to the ground with my great grandmother and father both tied to a chair. They ended up burning to death. Her and my great grandfather. This was shortly after my grandmother got married and went to live with my grandfather in Havana so she only found out a year later. Ever since then, the CCP has denied me the right to my family history and culture. Despicable animals...
