they are probly most horrifying thing an electrician can imagine
pretty much open heater element in enclosed space with burning materials all around
"yes please i want to roll myself under table what can flame up and burn cheap polyester sheets to my skin and face while i cant crawl out due table legs"
@Tervy there are electricians that fly out on helicopters and actually the climb onto live power lines in the mountains.
i know
but rather that than volunteering under suicide table made by some drunk chinkface
on top of that they try to sell it as "cheaper option" whan whole apartment heating
"yeah no"
proper oil/sun setup during winter japan is aprox 4 times cheaper iirc
its litlebit same as those electric heater sheets
What about that "insulation" shit I heard somebody talk about at FutureCon?
do you really want to wrap yourself on some blanket full of heating element and if lucky 230v current
and wait until it shortcircuits while you sleep and you become stripped sausage in flames
im just saying if you want to burn your house down thats sure way to do it
and yes i know that normal (Read expensive what you guys dont aim for and chinks are known to "cut corners") kotatsus have fire retardant (not proof they still dry like tinder and self-combust) blankets and proper (hopefully) dual thermostats incase other one breaks + some models have small fan to prevent hotspots forming under but even then you need to sink A LOT of money to it
(and sure chinkshit way is to get the large aircon pipe under the table and push the air from the spaceheater (still not safe but slightly safer)
but considering floor heating film costs around 70-80 dollars for proper one
its just not worth it

seen amazing houses >no fireplace but a fucking kotatsu instead
hell proper wood-burning stoves would solve same problems that kotatsus try to solve
on top of that you could cook breakfast and prevent moisture problems japanese houses tend to have
but i guess the nukes did their job and fried last of the smart people
":D"
what is central heating <:benis:239668961011040257>
"what is insulation" -japanese engineers
"you can have double glassed windows?"
shieet, i remember my poor childhood in post soviet times
running in the cellar to get coal
fucking huge coal ovens in every house/appartment
hunting rats with sticks together with the neighbour boy
good times
;-D
those fucking coal cellars still exist. only they re mostly used for bikes nowadays. I still hate it to go down there
you know those old indoors bread oven/fireplace combos
i loved those as child
we had one and probly best place to make food still
indoors bread oven? nah never seen one here
outside yes
