Fedora is a really good "just works" distro, not only for beginners

I did not have to re-install since 2013 and I even switched laptops since then

You get fairly new packages, a fairly up to date kernel and everything has sane defaults

the package manager is idiot proof, and since they abandoned yum for dnf, it's also fast enough

yum was piss slow to be fair

the only bad points are systemd and the fact that you do free betatests for RHEL

and many more when it comes inner workings of systemd

it gives some but it takes some
