I wouldn't go so far as to say that women are all terrible with money, but in general, they're willing to spend more than men; often if something is perceived as overpriced, men will elect to do without. Obviously, this is a generalization and doesn't hold up at an individual level, but the trend exists and companies price goods accordingly.
