Tried that on roller blades. I used model rocket engines, but it didn't really work and one of them detached and went flying.

No, I positioned them right so that it wouldn't burn me, but 12 year old me didn't realize that duct tape wasn't actually the best thing in the world for attaching rocket engines to plastic.
