are there any actually inexpensive sub-24" displays with displayport not just hdmi/dvi/vga
kinda sick of having to deal with big warty adapters in my display-umbilical
dont care about contrast or even response times, only even care about resolution in that it's gotta be bigger than XGA
<24 or =<24?
because someone posted a 24" 4k screen in the black Friday thread which was pretty cheap
under
tbh even 21" is pushing it for me but i can deal with that
i like 17" the most
comfiest size tbh
why do you need DP on those sizes? anything more than 1080p would be useless anyway
you could just use whatever port at this point
because all my hdmi and dvi ports on both video cards are in use
and only displayports are left, i have adapters but hate adapter
makes it a pain to manage the monitors-umbilical
when you have an inch and a half thick bundle of cable running along the wall the last thing you need is to add four inches of adapters
you could put the adapter on screen side / behind the screen if that's the only reason
the weight makes the connection unstable since displayport isn't latching
or use a DP-HDMI cable
DP on video card side, HDMI on monitor side
the only monitors I can think of with your constraints are professional eizo devices >1k
tbh i may even go for usb3.0 displays if there really isn't any sub-$200 monitor with DP
that isn't fuckoff huge
maybe you can find older ones from 2010-2011, iirc that was when they started using DPs
second hand eizos
considering 3/4 of my monitors are dell 1708s, i wouldn't mind older, any good pixel/$ models i should look for?
flexscan series are the cheaper models
you might have luck with those , I can't suggest you specific models
well, 3.5 since i got a tv for free in a raffle i stuck over my rack to manage stuff that doesn't have IPMI on
holy shit that price range is wild, ebay search'd flexscan and i get $120, $300, $1000, $550, $140
yes new ones with higher specs are >1000
EIZO FlexScan EV2730QFS3 is a nice meme
1:1 display
1920x1920
3 of them next to each other wouldn't even be that bad
yes
or 16:16 for the marketing
i just need two more monitors
since we say 16:10 and not 8:5
