I looked up pizzagate theory and apparently it was apart of a Wikileak and it involved a pizza place so maybe they called it "pizzagate" because the gate (entrance to finding the information they did) started at the pizza place

@AWOIII Like I said, the etymology of “-gate” as a suffix for scandal has to do with Watergate. Scandals don’t have to involve a literal gate to get the suffix.

@mathgrant Yeah pizza gate started with the hashtag "pedogate" and "pedoisland" after the wikileaks of hiliarys emails being leaked to the internet durning the election , people started reading and asking to many questions so to the media quickly ran interference to change the subject to "pizzagate"so people would think it was some ridiculous conspiracy
