@Pawp learn to weld, get good at it, go to trade school for paper and network, make money
a good welder can make a decent living _anywhere_
same is true for machinists in firstworld coutnries, but welders could find decent work in fucking nunavut or antarctica
learning a trade fixes that
realtalk fuck a uni go to trade school make more money out the door as an electrician or welder or w/e and spend less than a single semester at a decent murican uni to do it
welding specifically if you're really good enough and can handle some rough conditions can pay way way more than a cs or engineering degree will get you
underwater/tunnel bore welders can make actual millions
but even joe angle grinder can expect a healthy 45-55k or so between odd jobs and employment
depending on location ofc
i'm basically torn between trying to get a late start in a sysadmin career and going from facility maintenance to industrial maintenance, and i could probably make more starting out in the latter
since i already have actual work experience in related fields
or just driving forklift full-time instead of as part of my responsibilities, that pays home-owning money out here
I want to go into sysadmin
Actually electrical is hitting the shitter in Canada because of contracting problems.
My friend welds on boats but only gets $15 because it's an internship
15 for an internship is pretty great
there's some great morbid videos of underwater welding
