I work on a ranch
We ship out about idk how many tons of stuff a day
You work in production? Or you a higher up?
I've shipped out assemblies that would fit on a TV tray worth 30,000 dollars apiece
I'm a CNC programmer, although that's more a formality than anything else right now
I have the title, now I'm training to actually do that job
God thats such a useful skill
Ive always wanted to learn shit like that but my school was full of shit and charged me forty bucks in shop fees just to learn about changing tires and oil.
im a wrangler its a pretty small ranch
Yeah, two of the only really good things school ever did for me was get me into working on cars and machining
Here I am at 22 making 850 a week and getting full time benefits
They dont teach really useful skills anymore unfortunately, feel like Im wasting my life.
I want to go to college at MIT and major in nuclear physics
The K-12 system did not want me to turn out the way I did, thats for damn sure
Yep.
I remember
They used to hammer into our heads that the 4 year degree and silicon valley tech job was the only way
Noo I have an aptitude for nuclear physics
I want to build nuclear reactors
Dangerous profession
Then again they teach proper procedures and shit like that
i got rickrolled and now it's stuck in my head
Id imagine the industry probably has shit thats much better than MOP gear too
Clean your ears out with some Machine Head
Lead lined hazard suits and stuff
better than sitting around at home changing diapers and dealing with my anoying ass family on this GOD FORESAKEN RANCH
Lmao, yeah get it done dude.
You got 3-phase power out there?
I feel good
If so, get yourself a lathe, a bridgeport and a welder
idfk probably
Then you can make fuckin tons of shit
I also did automotive work
> Lead lined hazard suits and stuff
@ᴍᴀxᴡᴇʟʟ sounds like a smart idea
Good machinists are becoming a rarity
do you know how much a research core is worth on average?
If you work with nuclear materials I'd imagine so
All the old guys are retiring or dying off and there isn't much in the way of skilled laborers to replace em
1.3 million, and they have to be replaced every 25-27 days
i have on a few occasions
