42% taxes on people making 55k, that is how Europe pays for all these social programs. They can't just "tax the rich". It doesnt work.

What’s the source of this data? What part of Europe?...And don’t American taxes go into the defence budget?

2021-01-06 06:10:54 UTC

About 30% of it is purely military yes.

2021-01-06 06:11:13 UTC

Also this is in EUR.

2021-01-06 06:12:14 UTC

Also the US has state taxes on top of it.

2021-01-06 06:12:23 UTC

Income tax is a sleight of hand. Its created for the poor and working class to pay and think they’re taking the rich, while the rich don’t pay anything close to what’s implied.

2021-01-06 06:12:51 UTC

Deficit spending is also a tax but of rich and poor

2021-01-06 06:13:24 UTC

Countries like Sweden are extremely friendly to the rich. They have the poor and working class pay their taxes and enjoy no capital gains tax.

2021-01-06 06:13:41 UTC

So.... do you'uns thing Pense will send the alternate slates of electors back to state legislatures to decide

2021-01-06 06:14:24 UTC

We (Britain) currently spend around 2.1% of GDP on Defence.
I’m wondering what part of Europe, all countries on the mainland use euro (almost all member states).

2021-01-06 06:15:01 UTC

Me too, but gotta keep in mind, a lot of states also have their own income tax.

2021-01-06 06:15:09 UTC

So there is federal + state.

2021-01-06 06:15:49 UTC

and in case of my state they may have no personal income tax but they may have corporate income tax

2021-01-06 06:15:59 UTC

We are heavily taxed on Petroleum. You have it cheap! Like, really cheap! (Gas)

2021-01-06 06:18:21 UTC

Texas is popular for streamers to not pay as much in taxes.

2021-01-06 06:18:32 UTC

And there may be no state personal income tax but can be sales tax. In Illinois when i grew up sales tax was like 2 cents on the e dollar

2021-01-06 06:18:52 UTC

There are a lot of states with both income and sales tax.

2021-01-06 06:19:08 UTC

Texas has no personal income tax !!!!!

2021-01-06 06:19:19 UTC

Yes, covered that.

2021-01-06 06:20:03 UTC

It also seems they might let older people off paying property tax on homes after a whlile.... way unlike NY

2021-01-06 06:20:40 UTC

I need to find out more about that

2021-01-06 06:21:17 UTC

Yes... but you have to live in Texas.

2021-01-06 06:21:25 UTC

I do

2021-01-06 06:21:58 UTC

Yes... but you ***have to*** live in Texas.

2021-01-06 06:22:23 UTC

NYC 8.6 million people in about 300 sq miles DFW 8.6 milllion people in about 9600 sq miles

2021-01-06 06:22:57 UTC

Fort Hood also 300 sq miles ( like NYC)

2021-01-06 06:25:34 UTC

We have 3.2m in 948 sq miles.

2021-01-06 06:25:36 UTC

I'd honestly prefer this to a concrete jungle.

2021-01-06 06:26:15 UTC

Is there a problem with that?

2021-01-06 06:26:28 UTC

I used to live in TX as a kid... I was joking, of course.

2021-01-06 06:27:16 UTC

Are youse a Texan Maw?

2021-01-06 06:27:56 UTC

Lot of family in Texas. Don't currently live there, no. Currently in Canada because it's where my parents are.

2021-01-06 06:28:55 UTC

I find Texas the friendliest place I lived. NY is friendly once people get to know you. GA is very polite to outsiders but can be tough to break in

2021-01-06 06:28:55 UTC

@Michael S, you just advanced to level 7!

2021-01-06 06:29:13 UTC

Canada is friendlier but it comes with a steep cost. No guns.

2021-01-06 06:29:37 UTC

Well I think the churches are a bit more liberal or so I hear in Canada

2021-01-06 06:30:05 UTC

You mean people are less prone to violence or violence focused as a tool to resolve disputes

2021-01-06 06:30:18 UTC

Not really.

2021-01-06 06:30:26 UTC

Canadians are nice folk

2021-01-06 06:30:37 UTC

You've clearly not watched Hockey night.
