I am originally from the Bay Area - lived there off and on growing up. It's been a few years since I was in the City, but it was like most places - with good and bad. Parts of the Bay Area are much improved, though.

So why would a company choose to open their offices there? if it costs more. I'd have to believe that companies believe that they can attract better talent / employees.... so it goes back to employees wanting to live and work there

I was there about 5yrs ago. Stark difference to living in Arizona now. There is good reason why California has so many people leaving... especially recently. They’re losing far more than they are gaining... and among them are some very notable companies and individuals.

It is a really nice place to live... I am 30 minutes from the beach, 1 hour from snow and skiing, 90 minutes from Palm Springs, 4 hours from Vegas, 20 minutes from Disneyland/Knott's, 45 minutes to 2 hours from LA... We have an amazing school system with probably the finest college/university system in the world - who crank out exceptionally talented individuals that fall in love with CA and want to stay and work here. CA is a fiercely capitalist state (despite the right trying to paint us a commies). We are number one in Tech, Entertainment, tourism, agriculture, solar, EV, top 2-3 in aerospace - the 5th largest economy in the world (just ahead of the UK and behind Germany). I started out with everything that I owned fitting in my Navy duffel bag 30 years ago. I have lived a blessed life and am very fortunate.

I'm aware of the trend of people leaving CA, but it doesn't bother me that much. Our GDP has continually grown as the migration has occurred and our freeways have gotten a little less crowded. All in all, not a bad deal for us.

I like AZ a lot... Probably the only other place I would consider living. We had a great time at the Four Seasons in Scottsdale a few years back and got to play on the Troon courses. I absolutely LOVE Sedona - had an opportunity to buy a lot there in the 90's for $40k and have been kicking myself for not doing it ever since. I also could see living in Flagstaff.

We are fortunate and live in a great neighborhood where we bought almost 20 years ago with a great school system.

There is not a lot of crime in North OC, generally speaking.

Are we still pretending like a car mechanic is credible but a whistleblower about a singular specific claim with other corroborating witnesses (in a non legal procedures Like impeachment) is some how comparable

I just like to get an idea of the people I get to interact with here. I really believe that one of the biggest threats to our democracy are the exceedingly divisive, diametrically opposed echo chambers that are fed by the MSM and the RWM and amplified by the extremes on both sides. People get caught in their chosen chamber and become stuck. I have been following MSM and RWM for quite some time and it is like watching alternate universes.

We suffer from an intolerance of the other. I believe that the vast majority of us could agree on 80-90% of the issues, but those in power benefit from a divided America. If we can learn to treat each other with decency and recognize that intelligent, honorable people can disagree and still be respectful, we will all be better for it. It's my hope anyways...
