Question.. I need a new car since my last one has passed to a better life (a Daewoo racer) should y buy a shitbox now or save for a mazda 2 (around 60.000 miles) to modify it?

2020-11-19 12:31:15 UTC

Depends on a lot, but most importantly I would urge you to buy american if you can do so

2020-11-19 12:53:21 UTC

@jday1516 Its an all around vehicle. The thing is for that price and year if i choose american i will get a lower quality like Chevys (since 2004 the quality has gone down quite a lot) or a Ford (Fiesta and Ecosport) their quality is mid but maintance is demanding especially in the electronics department and my budget is quite tight and the Mazda 2 is very budget friendly and modifiable

@jday1516 y Oh. My grandma had a Cobalt. They have the same problem as mid 2000 Hyundai's. Lack of consistence. Since most of them were made in Brasil, colombia and Uzbekistan the quality is very inconsistent. Especially in plastic and the bolts are quite loose. With that car is up to lady luck to decide

Garonteed mada2 will cost you way more in repairs than a Cobalt to each there own but the advice is coming from a auto mechanic just so you know. I seen a few of them last when you Pamper them but compression issues and bad rings are common at 80k also if you buy at 60k make sure they do the 80k services early
