Only ones that have been through it a lot tend to smarten up

2020-11-11 20:54:27 UTC

Or have help

This is exactly why so many career criminals accept plea bargains, driving up that "general stat," they also see incarceration as a part of life.
When I was in la county each race had a nightly "prayer" just before lights out that often ended with "for those who have court tomorrow, I hope you get what you want (in reference to accepting a good plea) and not what they're trying to give you (in reference to a shit deal)"
Many people accept deals because they fear a more extreme sentence that often comes from trial

Also, whistle blowing is worthless in court

2020-11-11 21:00:34 UTC

Need evidence

2020-11-11 21:00:37 UTC

Again recidivism is fairly low

2020-11-11 21:00:51 UTC

Whistle-blower is evidence

2020-11-11 21:01:57 UTC

> Oral testimony will send people to the execution chamber.
You mean "has?"
Usually you need a body to prove murder
@Ragnarok

2020-11-11 21:02:10 UTC

Sounds like the exception, not the rule

2020-11-11 21:02:12 UTC

Unless they have actual evidence and they provide it before they die

2020-11-11 21:02:54 UTC

🤨

2020-11-11 21:03:03 UTC

Are you trolling?

2020-11-11 21:03:12 UTC

Oral testimony is the bulk of all evidence

2020-11-11 21:03:18 UTC

One way or another

2020-11-11 21:03:30 UTC

Also if they tell on themselves there is no plea

2020-11-11 21:03:37 UTC

Most of the time

2020-11-11 21:04:04 UTC

> A body, and a few people saying "He's the one!" has won many convictions in this country including on defendants who were actually innocent.
So... A witness (ex. whistleblower) AND hard evidence... This is what I've been saying
@Ragnarok

2020-11-11 21:04:19 UTC

As it goes, anything you say can and will be used against you

2020-11-11 21:04:34 UTC

I've heard of many cases where a confession wasn't enough by itself

2020-11-11 21:04:40 UTC

Whistle blower is hard evidence

2020-11-11 21:04:46 UTC

False

2020-11-11 21:04:51 UTC

Objectively

2020-11-11 21:04:56 UTC

If you say so

2020-11-11 21:05:07 UTC

whistle blower is sworn to testify

2020-11-11 21:05:09 UTC

It's a fact

2020-11-11 21:05:11 UTC

But you experience comes from being fucked

2020-11-11 21:05:13 UTC

at the risk of perjury

2020-11-11 21:05:26 UTC

Mine comes from the part where the fucking happens

2020-11-11 21:05:36 UTC

Liberals lie, has to do with trait openness

2020-11-11 21:06:15 UTC

Typically people don't lie about the democrats doing shit when they are part of the people doing shit

2020-11-11 21:06:23 UTC

They tend to get epsteined

2020-11-11 21:06:24 UTC

the whistle blowers will be deposed by both sides

2020-11-11 21:06:52 UTC

Besides we don't really need them for the criminal trial

2020-11-11 21:06:58 UTC

if they are viewed as credible, their deposition will be filed with the court for the trial

2020-11-11 21:07:04 UTC

Just the ones invalidating votes

2020-11-11 21:07:14 UTC

Which is a much lower burden of proof

2020-11-11 21:07:35 UTC

Hearsay isn't enough...
Which rn (at least that ik) is all that they have.
"I heard a guy say he was doing this" or "I heard a guy tell a guy to do that"

2020-11-11 21:07:44 UTC

That isnt hearsay

2020-11-11 21:07:51 UTC

It literally is

2020-11-11 21:07:52 UTC

Its a first hand source

2020-11-11 21:08:04 UTC

Hearsay is when you speak for someone else
