didnt you say it was a .net job?

2018-04-09 09:07:15 UTC

I have 3 offers from 3 different companies to chose from right now

2018-04-09 09:08:47 UTC

oh lol

2018-04-09 09:15:05 UTC

that's not unusual for developers

2018-04-09 09:15:11 UTC

you shouldn't just take gthe first job you find

2018-04-09 09:15:21 UTC

better take something that you can imagine doing for some years

2018-04-09 09:18:01 UTC

- the gnu challenge job is a hipster startup, most people are younger than me and have a totally different point of view on tech. They love Rust, Go, JavaScript and thousands of weird frameworks. The company gives you a free Mac, a fre iPhone and a free iPad.

- the .NET job is a 4000 people company that exists since the 1970s, used to be a warehouse, and now does e-commerce. The nicest part here is that they give everything to the employees at wholesale price (without earning profit on it) and they have almost 350 000 different things in their shop.

- the other one is not development but technical consulting. It's a payment services company

I am still looking for the 4th one where I am in the recruitment process. I need to start working 01.06 latest if I don't want to start draining my savings - so I have time

2018-04-09 09:22:28 UTC

I think the most exciting one would be the .NET job, they want to automatize most of the processes inside the warehouse and remove roughly half of the warehouse personell within the next 4 years

2018-04-09 09:25:55 UTC

been to a few companies where half the warehouse is robots

2018-04-09 09:26:18 UTC

the other half is humans because robots suck at picking up random items from bins

2018-04-09 09:26:36 UTC

the humans are just guided by computers anyways

2018-04-09 09:26:41 UTC

a light at the correct aisle lights up

2018-04-09 09:26:47 UTC

and then at the specific box

2018-04-09 09:26:51 UTC

they walk over to the box

2018-04-09 09:27:01 UTC

press a button on the box for each item they pick up

2018-04-09 09:54:00 UTC

2018-04-09 09:54:10 UTC

2018-04-09 09:59:30 UTC

Have you considered shooting up the gnu challenge company?

2018-04-09 09:59:38 UTC
