I never said that term, however
He violated the Constitution
How did he violate the Constitution when prior to secession, the South was in violation of the Constitution through the institution of Slavery
He suspended habeas corpus, arrested dissenters, took guns, and launched a war in the absence of Congress
It was addressed
Southern states already had ideas for abolition. They just didn't want the Big Government telling them what to do
There is no quarter for enemy combatants. Suspension of habeas corpus is justifiable in such a wartime scenario.
That sounds like something liberals say
No it isn't
They literally lie on social media these days and say that habeas corpus is being suspended in cities
To try and drum up attention
Liberals love Lincoln. He is their hero. They talk about him all the time
Some leftists believe he is their hero but there is a split
They are all wrong, by the way
Again, we are facing the same problem today and believe it to be the same thing but the place we come from is extremely different
Every modern liberal waxes poetic about dishonest Abe
You assume I am a liberal. I will give this a rest, but I assure you I am not
It isn't the same. This isn't 1860
You sound like one
I wasn't making the equivalence
But most Republicans are
But that perspective is wrong
Republicans are cowards nowadays
Republicans today support pervert marriage
Trump is ineffective, but I support him
Indeed, they have acquiesced too many times
They are cowards
Acting more like controlled opposition to the liberals
Well we agree then. But stop using false equivalency, with todays Democrats are the same as 19th Century. They are not the same
Trump is the best
Maybe so, but I find the similarities to be striking.
Trump is better than the field right now
I really don't see how
But he's still not really great. We need someone with his spine and better political acumen
Democrats used to be conservative
they're the same, the apple dont' fall far from the tree
Overall the Republican party has to man up
In fact, the Republicans called themselves the "progressive party"
indeed. That term was later co-opted but granted
yea under Teddy Roosevelt, a great conservative president
