well no because you don't repeat the bible verses like one repeats the mantras and chants because the object isn't to thik abotu a mantra or chant, it's to kill the thoughts, hence what i am meaning by it's the opposite of meditation

@willow wisp yeah it does have a very similar technique to help relax your mind but the the outcome is very different

well the silent prayer technique is opposite, it is to still yourself and be in silence, the object being to essentially quiet the mind and remove thought

i think superficially it can appear outwardly that they're doing the same thing, but if one meditates while doing the silent prayer than they're not really doing the silent prayer. to the converse if one is trying to meditate and does the silent prayer then they're not realyl meditating
