I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

2020-12-09 06:41:34 UTC

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

2020-12-09 06:42:06 UTC

yea

2020-12-09 06:42:25 UTC

Jeremiah 20:14-18

14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.

16 And let that man be as the cities which the Lord overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;

17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.

18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

a very intelligent man that Jeremiah

2020-12-09 06:43:25 UTC

he lived in an evil time too

How come we need to have knowledge of the bible?

2020-12-09 06:53:46 UTC

Can’t we just acknowledge that it is right?

2020-12-09 06:55:23 UTC

you don't need to have knowledge of the Bible technically, but iti s helpful

2020-12-09 06:56:32 UTC

I don’t know if I’ve actually formulated what a bible verse has actually had meant using different words

2020-12-09 06:58:45 UTC

I’ve only ever said that a bible verse spoke to me due to it being simaler to something that happened to me in life

2020-12-09 06:59:02 UTC

oh i see what you mean

2020-12-09 06:59:47 UTC

But I have thoughts that we should only acknowledge it for what the context is

2020-12-09 07:00:09 UTC

how do you mean?

2020-12-09 07:01:51 UTC

When I read the words it should only pertain to the theme of the book

2020-12-09 07:02:13 UTC

I shouldn’t take a scripture and explain it in different words

2020-12-09 07:02:45 UTC

If someone doesn’t understand it then suffa

2020-12-09 07:03:16 UTC

Next time I study the bible I’m not explaining what it means

2020-12-09 07:03:23 UTC

I’ll outright tell them

2020-12-09 07:03:37 UTC

oh lol well kinda, i mean you can say the same thing in different words obviously, like obviously there's a difference in middle english comapred to modern english though the words still mean the same thing

2020-12-09 07:03:46 UTC

ie: saying you instead of thee

2020-12-09 07:04:00 UTC

Not that

2020-12-09 07:04:50 UTC

When someone reads a verse and says what it means in their own words explaining the sentence so someone understands it, making it easier for the other person

2020-12-09 07:05:16 UTC

I find that people don’t even ask what the verse means and the person is explaining it to them

2020-12-09 07:06:15 UTC

yea i see what you mean, i think it's okay to talk about the verses, but yea i think it's true a lot of people, especialyl churches of stone i notice, they'll explain away a verse or passage to the point that it doesn't even mean what it says anymore

2020-12-09 07:06:41 UTC

Haha

2020-12-09 07:07:55 UTC

The word is too good to babble on about

2020-12-09 07:08:11 UTC

Respect that you don’t know anything about it

2020-12-09 07:08:23 UTC

Put the baby to bed

2020-12-09 07:08:59 UTC

well you can know, that's probably a big reason why the various people wrote it down lol

2020-12-09 07:10:04 UTC

Greater works that he shall do but we sit here and chat about how a bible verse means to me

2020-12-09 07:10:12 UTC

i think bible teachers are more helpful when they cross-reference to tie it all together, rather than just talking about what they think it means

2020-12-09 07:10:52 UTC

every church of stone's Bible teacher i encountered never read the entire Bible, which i found sort of ironic, and then a good number of them simply cannot beleive half of what it says

2020-12-09 07:11:08 UTC

and you're right Chase, that's a good point

I have thought and feelings about how it is demeaning to tell someone about the bible

2020-12-09 07:13:52 UTC

In their own words

2020-12-09 07:14:02 UTC

With cross referencing

2020-12-09 07:14:05 UTC

lol sean

2020-12-09 07:14:49 UTC

well i think cross-referencing is important

2020-12-09 07:15:07 UTC

to contextualize concepts
