Look at your teeth.

2020-12-09 17:06:29 UTC

Lol doc is definitely right about that one!

2020-12-09 17:07:39 UTC

So I was right, stabbings. And yes, I brought up that you can't see anything with your reduced field of view meaning you're never going to see yourself get stabbed.

2020-12-09 17:07:44 UTC

Huzzah.

2020-12-09 17:07:55 UTC

indeed

2020-12-09 17:08:02 UTC

It depends, but more than likely yes!

2020-12-09 17:08:32 UTC

many stabbed victims last words: "He punched me in the kidney, the coward!"

2020-12-09 17:08:35 UTC

People who are not trained in managing Adrenalin response are particularly vulnerable to that.

2020-12-09 17:08:44 UTC

As I'm hoping people notice, when you look ahead, you have a blindspot around a foot or two in front of your direct front.

2020-12-09 17:09:01 UTC

[kidney here is an example. It could just as well be, "he jabbed my in my balls!"]

2020-12-09 17:09:17 UTC

The femoral artery is a popular target. Knife fighters know about it.

2020-12-09 17:09:27 UTC

Very easy to hit too.

2020-12-09 17:09:37 UTC

the victim rarely sees the knife.

2020-12-09 17:09:42 UTC

People don't normally protect their legs.

2020-12-09 17:09:49 UTC

tunnel vision + danger close

2020-12-09 17:10:33 UTC

you lose your peripheral vision at a HR around 150 (adrenaline induced)

2020-12-09 17:10:35 UTC

It takes about 1-2 minutes to bleed out from a good femoral artery hit if you don't stop the bloodflow.

2020-12-09 17:10:44 UTC

@Doc they do, but the Brachial artery is much better!

2020-12-09 17:11:05 UTC

@{CAP}Radeon harder to hit as you have to expect some kind of wailing defense.

2020-12-09 17:11:19 UTC

so the pro knifers prefer the femoral.

2020-12-09 17:11:27 UTC

Of course, not hard to solicit in a bar fight to be honest!

2020-12-09 17:11:34 UTC

more humiliating as well.

2020-12-09 17:12:00 UTC

knivers like humiliating.

2020-12-09 17:12:03 UTC

Sadly many people will not notice how bad the blood flow is until it's too late.

2020-12-09 17:12:09 UTC

Because most people wear pants.

2020-12-09 17:12:33 UTC

their last words are usually either "Im cold." Or, "help me up, I cant breathe!"

2020-12-09 17:12:33 UTC

Lol if you sever the brachial artery they will bleed out before the guy on the phone can tell the 911 operator what happened.

2020-12-09 17:15:46 UTC

@Maw I’m a tall guy, a majority of the time I have to lean down to attack the femoral. I prefer the aortic until I can reach the brachial.

2020-12-09 17:15:54 UTC

Suffice to say, if you're ever hit in the thigh/leg and you notice almost immediately that your pant leg is dark with blood and you're leaving spatters of blood dripping from your pants every time you take a step, you need to immediately find anything to use as a tourniquet. You have no time to waste.

2020-12-09 17:16:30 UTC

You don't have the time to wait for an ambulance.

2020-12-09 17:16:33 UTC

Unless the artery has contracted already. You might be screwed!

2020-12-09 17:16:35 UTC

I had a guy once who actually looked like zoidberg.

2020-12-09 17:16:52 UTC

Doc.

2020-12-09 17:16:59 UTC

Too much.

2020-12-09 17:17:10 UTC

as I was sticking him ought....roughly....with 1-0, just to hold it in place on transport to the plastic surgons, he asked me: "will this leave a scar?

2020-12-09 17:17:16 UTC

@Maw dang...sorry man. 😦

2020-12-09 17:17:23 UTC

thanks for reminding me.

Lol @Doc ever seen what a 120 howitzer shell does to the face skin?

2020-12-09 17:17:53 UTC
