what *should* concern americans, isnt what head is on top, but the amount of interest china has developed in american and european politics over the last decade.
Sounds like another country I know for the last 100 years or so. I don't understand the outrage about that.
Outrage about what?
About countries exerting influence because they can.
I dont see any outrage. My concern is this; in europe we have been subjected to a caricature of american culture which has turned everyone into Vally-girls and Kadashians.
It is amazing the things people will do when they are convinced they are right but decry when the script is flipped.
That was hardly enriching.
Now we will get subjected to the chinese religion of efficiency.
and social control.
Hardly sounds like a step forward.
If you don't see outrage, you haven't been paying attention. CCP hysteria abound.
Well, I do meet a lot of people. Except for in the intelligence community, people seem to associate china with cheap gadgets. Not imperialism.
Personally, there is a difference for me. I would function better as a vassal under Washington, than under Bejing. The social control paradigm is more totalitarian than the wall street paradigm.
(in SOME ways)
If I had a dollar for every hysterical claim about China, from merely this election season, I would be much more wealthy. I too talk to a lot of people.
Well, there might be a difference here then, between where you are and where I am.
Europeans are largely braindead.
Not capable of hysteria unless it impacts their ability to consume.
I'm not making claims about what system is better or best, just to be even more clear.
Neither am I. I note that so far, you can live off grid and let the Kardashians rule the cities. That is comfortable enough for me.
Ok
Due to their social score-strategies.
I'm not as concerned with that as I am about reflexive outrage
well, you seem to be connected to humanity still.
I am not.
I dont mind outrage. I am able to stay out of the way of the masses. If they want to burn down their communities, I am fine with that.
Me too.
well, then you should fear the notion of a mandatory social score system?
In regard to what they want to burn.
I fear an asteroid impact. I fear a lot of things, I reckon.
Asteroid impact is fine. Its spectacular and entertaining and either a quick death or a series of physical challanges.
A cubicle and obligatory smiles to gain social credit points needed to open a bank account, however, is the 7th circle of hell for me. 😄
A matter of taste of course. Some people feel safer the more they are controlled.
Dare I say *most* people?
If that is the true dichotomy, God bless. Conjuring 'what-ifs' has utility.
Dont get me wrong, I suspect this to be the trajectory no matter who is in charge. Its the gravitation of the human supraorganism.
note the difference, however, between a "what if" and a projection.
Yeah potentiality can be an evasive concept to me.
Indeed. You can plot hypersynchrony of the past, to the present and extrapolate that into the future. Not a fact. A projection.
Do that for America, now at a low intensity war with itself, and China, and the difference is striking.
