that kind of bad faith argument really ruined the rest of what he said for me

2020-11-20 05:27:41 UTC

because I _know_ that argument is bullshit, and meant to rile people up, but only dumb people

2020-11-20 05:28:06 UTC

(those states that flipped overnight were counting mail-in ballots last, and everyone knew that those slanted toward biden)

2020-11-20 05:28:22 UTC

(which is how various networks called the elections for several of those states early)

2020-11-20 05:28:35 UTC

they were all talking about it

2020-11-20 05:28:44 UTC

they were talking about it a few _weeks_ before the election

2020-11-20 05:29:15 UTC

so when Giuliani mixed that argument in between his Dominion accusations, what the hell am I supposed to think?

2020-11-20 05:29:16 UTC

@realz, you just advanced to level 6!

2020-11-20 05:29:37 UTC

just let myself be jerked around for _this_ but believe the Dominion accusations are real?

2020-11-20 05:30:02 UTC

bad faith arguments make it hard to trust

2020-11-20 05:30:08 UTC

that's just how life is

2020-11-20 05:30:17 UTC

if that didn't bother you, then you are OK with being jerked around

2020-11-20 05:36:19 UTC

> (which is how various networks called the elections for several of those states early)
@realz like Arizona which they had to recall. NC had a clear winner but they refused to call it as it had a 51% for Trump at 99% rpt

2020-11-20 05:37:04 UTC

I am not going to fight about who is calling what for whom at which times

2020-11-20 05:37:12 UTC

because I don't know the details of every call

2020-11-20 05:37:36 UTC

but if you followed what the big ones were saying (NYT, AP, WAPO, etc.) then the reason it flipped overnight was obvious

2020-11-20 05:38:12 UTC

Giuliani playing dumb is textbook bad faith

2020-11-20 05:38:23 UTC

ok well it is weird they stopped counting only in blue states early sure bc of mail in votes eh it was like stopping at 75% for most. In cali, so I was up all night. why would they stop counting at 12 pm, if they were just going start again between 3- 6 am? I mean I don't know exactly when they began but like you'd think oh since they been here all day they take an 8 hr rest and come back.. or else why didn't they just count thru the night. There wouldn't be a a lot more ballots there by morning, probably only ones they already had. sure its a bad argument to prove but why do those states stand alone

2020-11-20 05:38:58 UTC

Giuliani wasn't talking about them stopping or starting

2020-11-20 05:39:04 UTC

lol

2020-11-20 05:39:28 UTC

it is a separate question; these kinds of questions always had an answer when I dug into them

2020-11-20 05:39:37 UTC

if you really care about it, google it with the opposite confirmation bias

2020-11-20 05:39:44 UTC

you'll find an answer

2020-11-20 05:39:57 UTC

i dont know what you mean

2020-11-20 05:40:13 UTC

google "why did they stop counting"

2020-11-20 05:40:22 UTC

look through the answers as if you are a democrat

2020-11-20 05:40:33 UTC

try to find a satisfying answer

2020-11-20 05:40:42 UTC

I assume it was cause they were still receiving mail in ballots post marked before election day?

2020-11-20 05:40:42 UTC

@Adam135, you just advanced to level 2!

2020-11-20 05:40:48 UTC

at least, from what everyone is saying

2020-11-20 05:40:59 UTC

@Adam135 it was a lot more than that

2020-11-20 05:41:08 UTC

they just didn't get through all the mail in ballots that they already had

2020-11-20 05:41:21 UTC

many states had some large % left over

2020-11-20 05:42:00 UTC

presumably most of the mail-in ballots were not last-minute

2020-11-20 05:42:37 UTC

the NYT had % of ballots for some states

2020-11-20 05:42:53 UTC

i.e they knew what they had, they were counting those, but were getting through them much slower

2020-11-20 05:43:07 UTC

the late mail-in ballots are a separate but interesting issue

2020-11-20 05:43:15 UTC

i still dont trust *they*

2020-11-20 05:43:30 UTC

Should democrats be right to feel threatened by investigations, audits or delayed certifications? I know some people say they feel this way because they're hiding fraud but the alternative is they could be legitimately scared that some results could be overturned by some legal technicality?

2020-11-20 05:43:43 UTC

> i still dont trust *they*
@mandarinorange I mean that isn't unreasonable

2020-11-20 05:43:54 UTC

but I don't fing trust the other "they" either
