It is America in its essence. And it is dying.

2020-11-22 05:37:38 UTC

@linuxace If you trained at Ørlandet, I bet you spent time in some magnificent acoustic surroundings. 😉

2020-11-22 05:37:38 UTC

Hey, you only have to be a citizen for 7 years in order to run for a congressional seat. Sounds like you have more respect for what our government should look like than most of our elected respresentatives.

2020-11-22 05:37:46 UTC

We made it through a civil war. We won’t die and we won’t have another

2020-11-22 05:38:25 UTC

@linuxace I suspect that exact composition would make them pick me up at JFK and ship me home. 😄

2020-11-22 05:38:33 UTC

This election will play out through the constitution, if it is missing a price or two of the puzzle it will get filled. Just as we have done from the beginning

2020-11-22 05:38:40 UTC

Being an american now sounds somewhat revolutionary.

2020-11-22 05:38:43 UTC

America didn't survive the civil war, its boarders did.

2020-11-22 05:38:50 UTC

Yep. You would be on AoCs list pretty quick.

2020-11-22 05:39:04 UTC

😄

2020-11-22 05:40:09 UTC

@linuxace But, ya, I do sometimes think that americans should be reminded what their founding fathers fled from. Because america is steaming full speed ahead into the same bloody mess that created the declaration in the first place.

Please note that when my kindsmen boarded the boat, they did so as humiliated subjects of the local Lord. When they stepped off the boat, they were free men.

2020-11-22 05:41:13 UTC

Try to imagine what that flag meant to them?

2020-11-22 05:41:30 UTC

I would say it is about half and half. Half are trying to slow it down and the other half are trying to speed it up. Worried that is going to cause a civil war. People have been hoarding guns and ammo for the last 10-months (but is really been going on for about a decade.

2020-11-22 05:41:56 UTC

well, you know Jeffersons words...

2020-11-22 05:42:20 UTC

Yep liberty tree, blood of tyrants and partriots. All that jazz.

2020-11-22 05:42:21 UTC

If the tree of liberty is thirsty...

2020-11-22 05:42:29 UTC

It seems to be.

2020-11-22 05:43:04 UTC

I'll take a single individual with a vested interest in my productivity vs a 150 million headed master who won't spare 10 minutes each to even know the voting record of the people they're electing.

2020-11-22 05:43:29 UTC

That's why many of the founders didn't want popular elections.

2020-11-22 05:43:37 UTC

Trolls

2020-11-22 05:43:42 UTC

2020-11-22 05:44:07 UTC

Hamilton was right. we should have had a monarch

2020-11-22 05:44:21 UTC

There are a lot of people that go singing to the polls to vote for their own destruction.

2020-11-22 05:45:49 UTC

2020-11-22 05:46:08 UTC

2020-11-22 05:50:27 UTC

Ehh. You can have a better quality mix and a worse quality song. I prefer better quality music.

2020-11-22 05:50:58 UTC

Im actually more of a classical music person...and Cash of course. 😄

2020-11-22 05:51:15 UTC

But your comment on people electing their way down, made me think of that song.

2020-11-22 05:52:57 UTC

Yeah? I love Stravinsky and Gustav Mahler. The other European band I've been listening to lately is Heilung.

2020-11-22 05:53:10 UTC

Very nice.

2020-11-22 05:53:32 UTC

On the topic of election, have you heard The death and funeralmach of Siegfried?
