Artificial meat

2020-12-06 08:02:46 UTC

F*** artificial meat aka laboratory meat.

2020-12-06 08:02:52 UTC

We need to change the supply chain.

2020-12-06 08:03:16 UTC

Get those 11 calories of fossil fuel out of each calorie of food consumed, before the vicissitudes of the economy do it for us.

2020-12-06 08:03:49 UTC

Not really but aeroponics and hydroponics in skyscrapers

2020-12-06 08:04:06 UTC

Aeroponics sorry...

2020-12-06 08:04:22 UTC

The Future is bright

2020-12-06 08:04:32 UTC

The problem is that as the technology currently stands it's only profitable from a return on energy invested perspective to do foods that mature in a short time.

2020-12-06 08:04:45 UTC

Aslong as people don’t slow down these advancements

2020-12-06 08:04:55 UTC

I will say LEDs have been a boon for indoor growing.

2020-12-06 08:05:21 UTC

Meh nuclear power plants

2020-12-06 08:06:00 UTC

My assertion is when you really look at it the intrinsic energy in a nuclear plant exceeds the energy output over its life.

2020-12-06 08:06:11 UTC

Though the literature might take issue with that.

2020-12-06 08:06:40 UTC

Or skyscrapers made of solar panels

2020-12-06 08:06:59 UTC

45 to 75% of the energy used in the buildings life goes into the building and the building materials.

2020-12-06 08:07:22 UTC

The operational energy used is somewhat negligible over its 50-year life if that's how it's engineered.

2020-12-06 08:08:10 UTC

That the literature will show more clearly.

2020-12-06 08:09:27 UTC

This could work too

2020-12-06 08:09:30 UTC

Some grocery stores are starting to grow lettuce on site or near on site.

2020-12-06 08:09:38 UTC

There we go

2020-12-06 08:09:54 UTC

Remove the transportation cost of the finished product.

2020-12-06 08:10:42 UTC

Elon musk's brother has a company that uses shipping containers to grow various items out of site.

2020-12-06 08:12:16 UTC

I applied it for jobs at a few of those places... I doubt they have the money to pay me.

2020-12-06 08:12:24 UTC

At least at this point.

2020-12-06 08:13:04 UTC

I would very likely do it just for the experience but again I never heard back so.

2020-12-06 08:16:47 UTC

...

2020-12-06 08:17:49 UTC

The most important task man faces is creating a fusion reactor with more energy output than input, if this is not accomplished within the next hundred years we're going back to 1800 style life with a population mean reversal. Global warming's not the threat running out of readily available energy is the true threat.

2020-12-06 08:19:00 UTC

Hopefully artificial intelligence is going to help us contain the plasma. But it's not done until it's done, additionally the computing power required to drive the artificial intelligence is extremely massive like the kind of power salt lake City draws constantly, so there's that.

2020-12-06 08:19:36 UTC

It's not hopefully artificial intelligence it's artificial intelligence helping or nothing. No way to model the plasma without it that we know of.

2020-12-06 08:20:38 UTC

one out of their interesting side note with these computers that are running this artificial intelligence they've reached over the capacity of what the human mind processes but massive amounts of energy are required.

2020-12-06 08:23:50 UTC

Above where I said fusion reactor with more energy input than output I would like to change that to a fusion reactor with more energy output than input that's viable as a product in the marketplace.

2020-12-06 08:27:35 UTC

I forgot to rebut what you were saying about alchemy... Also libertarianism of the out chemical movement.

2020-12-06 08:27:59 UTC

Maybe it wasn't so much about alchemy but it was about changing other elements to gold...

2020-12-06 08:28:08 UTC

Total waste energy but.
