The discussion was initiated about fears that Dems are owned by the Chinese who are supposedly paying off politicians to rewrite our Constitution to be Socialist. We were discussing that we already have a mixed system where the commons and the military are government owned and many of us asserted that - other than the possible exception of discussions about Universal Healthcare - that no one is actively talking about increasing the amount of socialism in our society and there is certainly nobody actively looking to replace capitalism with socialism.

Until I had to finally get on disability.
Thankfully for always saving and it's there when we really do need it. But I'm still for as little government interference as possible.
Meaning I'm never for removing a system that helps disabiled, or people get back on their feet. As long as it's not taken advantage of.
But nonetheless the system we have when it comes to my specific autoimmune disease. Is just about useless. I've had to figure out my own healing. ( Medically speaking)

I'm for the government using the taxpayer money more responsibly and the process being more transparent. Our tax dollars that we give to the government should not be squandered on stuff we cannot see, and it should be spent responsibly.

Socialism's not the problem, socialism with authoritarianism, totalitarianism, or fascism is the issue.

See, I'm not adverse to helping people by spending some of my paycheck toward people that don't have the ability to work. I'm fully cognizant of these sorts of issues people have. As much as I think taxation is a form of theft, it's mildly justifiable theft in my opinion.

But if the government didn't spend money so frivolously, we wouldn't need to spend as much in taxes.

I'd ask why Robin Hood never collects from the wealthy business interests, who use tax avoidance schemes. The Robin Hood in the US takes from the middle class and gives to the aforementioned corporations.
