the pros pork is tasty, the cons, god told you not to do it

2020-12-17 04:02:08 UTC

@james j I’m not familiar with Islam so can’t speak to the religious doctrine that addresses eating pork. I would assume it’s in their religious texts which they believe come from God via Muhammad

2020-12-17 04:02:19 UTC

so going reddit atheist mode and saying 'hurr well there was a reason back then but not now' doesnt work

2020-12-17 04:02:35 UTC

> @Zuluzeit this person is presup? In that case you are right. Not worth it
@james j lol yup

2020-12-17 04:02:42 UTC

Same as Judaism.

2020-12-17 04:03:02 UTC

@TMDOMarie55 its literally in the quran, its a sin, not a hadith that can be interpereted

2020-12-17 04:03:04 UTC

I believe that someone's going to send me a couple hundred kilos of gold, so far I'm still waiting.

2020-12-17 04:03:26 UTC

@TMDOMarie55 the principle is the same

2020-12-17 04:03:30 UTC

and no, you cant 'update' holy texts

2020-12-17 04:03:35 UTC

thats a little thing called blasphemy

2020-12-17 04:03:46 UTC

or is it heresy

2020-12-17 04:03:52 UTC

technically i think its heresy

2020-12-17 04:03:54 UTC

spreading false teachings

2020-12-17 04:03:55 UTC

how would anyone change the word of God?

2020-12-17 04:03:55 UTC

@SANCTIONED, you just advanced to level 9!

2020-12-17 04:04:04 UTC

> so going reddit atheist mode and saying 'hurr well there was a reason back then but not now' doesnt work
@ImNotGas That is exactly how bible stories are explained in apologetics. Like exactly.

2020-12-17 04:04:08 UTC

@SANCTIONED per james j, weigh the pros and cons lmao

2020-12-17 04:04:15 UTC

pre or post everyone has their suppositions by which they live ... else they are inconsistent

2020-12-17 04:05:19 UTC

@Zuluzeit theres a reason they are called protestants and not catholics or orthodox

2020-12-17 04:05:27 UTC

@james j that isn’t how religion works. You don’t weight the pros and cons - I’m not sure what you mean

2020-12-17 04:05:30 UTC

Are you a leftist god believer?

2020-12-17 04:06:25 UTC

"what god really meant by thou shalt not steal is its ok to do so if your hungry"

2020-12-17 04:06:36 UTC

I’m talking about an alternative moral frame work than modern religious provides @TMDOMarie55 eating pork was a example

2020-12-17 04:06:43 UTC

I lean the way i feel. Still working shit out with God,

2020-12-17 04:06:54 UTC

@james j so, leftist dogma

2020-12-17 04:06:58 UTC

@Ghostdog you know those are not comparable

2020-12-17 04:07:05 UTC

we've already told you leftism is like a religion

2020-12-17 04:07:20 UTC

The American People as a whole have been complaining since The very Begining. https://www.senate.gov/about/officers-staff/vice-president/VP_John_Adams.htm

2020-12-17 04:07:30 UTC

Real liberals Noah Fairy Tail when they are it.

2020-12-17 04:07:35 UTC

you have the original sin of 'privilege'

2020-12-17 04:07:41 UTC

you apologize for your sin constantly

2020-12-17 04:07:50 UTC

@ImNotGas if they are both dogmas I would pick the one that uses more analytical thought to come to conclusions

2020-12-17 04:07:51 UTC

> "what god really meant by thou shalt not steal is its ok to do so if your hungry"
@ImNotGas Yes, chock full of sliding scales and moral relativism. Hardly immutable and infallible, at the very least.

2020-12-17 04:08:18 UTC

@Zuluzeit it is infallible, the interpretation is fallible

2020-12-17 04:08:32 UTC

@ImNotGas my point exactly. These are what people believe to be holy texts. Not people just “making things up”

2020-12-17 04:08:51 UTC

the same tales we are all told...i just don't like to offend.

2020-12-17 04:08:54 UTC

"im so sorry my ancestors were colonizers please take my money government"

2020-12-17 04:09:08 UTC

> @Zuluzeit it is infallible, the interpretation is fallible
@ImNotGas Seems like infallible would come with a workable way to communicate infallibly. Js.
