@james j this is the problem with these authoritarians they want to dictate the way people live.
And greatly diminish any choices.
So one must be in a box to identify other boxes? Interesting.
All you have to do is deny the box lol.
I am doing so. 😄
... by saying everyone that disagrees with you is otherwise in the box?
If they can build a park in a city that’s a sign that tech and nature are not mutually exclusive. There can be a harmony between the two. City planning is a pretty cool topic @busillis now imagine a rural area where you get all the nature you could want without sacrificing creature comforts @busillis
When did I say this?
Heavily implied when you're saying that people are pandering to lefties, and lefties just toss around 'conspiracy theory' to dismiss people, etc.
Heavily stereotyping (boxing) lefties is literally what you just did.
did you forget already? scroll up I'm sure you'll find it
But you also say you don't like being put in the box.
Unlike living in the country and raising your own farm animals and being somewhat self-sufficient, that's not on the menu... It's actually all for controlling people and to think differently is sadly misguided.
Practice what you preach I guess?
I'm not disagreeing that I am putting people in boxes lol...
When I lived I Charlotte (which is by no means a big city) had park and greenways and wild life everywhere @busillis you are talking about a different topic
No, no ... just preach and take up the collection, then preach again if the collection wasn't enough
I'm not talking about wildlife I'm talking about people living in a sustainable way where they grow their own food live their own lives unaffected by the technocrats.
Then embrace the box!
^^ or don't even scroll up, just wait you'll say it again
I’m saying tech can be non intrusive where you don’t have to sacrifice tech for nature or nature for tech @busillis
@james j wants big tech controls the way people move around meaning self-driving cars what other vestiges of freedom are left.
Likewise.
And then nothing will move forward, and America will be on the verge of collapse as it is now.
But that's not where things are actually going.
Self driving cars for long drives and commutes would be a dream. @busillis
Not if you don't agree with the party line and they cut off your self-driving car which is very likely to happen.
Meaning you don’t have to sacrifice trees, animals, lakes, clean air for tech @busillis
All technology is very authoritarian.
Meh
They said the refrigerator was authoritarian
The internet was about as anti-authoritarian as technology comes.
I disagree with that sentiment.
@james j I think you're still deluded thinking that people have others best interest in mind.
The level of freedom you're afforded owning your first car is nuts.
Technological systems by definition enforce and obedience to the system itself...
freedom? ... or slave? to car payments, registration, insurance?
I m not talking about that @busillis I’m just saying this idea of having to give up nature for tech isn’t true
Freedom. Unless capitalism is now slavery?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
